Hey folks. I access the internet via two different wireless networks, one at home and one at university. For some reason, for the past couple of weeks Firefox is working at uni, but not at home. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I had exactly the same problem. I'm not sure in your case, but I'm fairly sure it has something to do with the proxy settings. For me, my Uni runs a proxy server, so we have to have the settings set for that.
I use Firefox @ Uni & Opera at home, so that I don't have to change the settings, however it is relatively easy to remove the proxy settings & set back up when you go back to Uni. I'm too lazy to do that![]()

That would be it! A library technician changed my proxy settings (I have no idea what they are) a couple of weeks ago, because I was having trouble logging on. I should have connected the two, but didn't.
So Firefox isn't clever enough to be able to work with both? That kinda sucks.
you can get an addon for firefox, cant remember wat it was called, that basically gives u a little icon in the bottom right corner, that allows you to toggle proxy use on/off just by clicking the icon.
just search firefox plugins for 'Proxy', it was a little green icon it placed on ur screen. I used it for exactly the same thing when i was at uni.
Edit: luckily for you i'm dreading work right now.

yeah you access it while browsing in firefox, and there should be a link that says "add to firefox" or something like that, depending on what version you're using.Cheers Nardz. I know I probably sound stupid but I have no idea how to get this to work. Do I need to access it whilst browsing in Firefox?
If so, how do I change the proxy setting (the hard way), so that I can access Firefox, as I am currently at home and may not be back at uni until mid-next-week?
