Sinclair was solid last year. No reason why Lycett/Giles can't provide what Sinclair did. In Lycett's case, if he finds form, then he'll provide more.

Still absolutely over the moon with that trade.
Totally. Despite what people say, its not that easy to find players who can offer what Jetta does. Granted it's not that easy to find ruckmen either, but we have alternatives - we don't have anyone else like Jetta

I dislike Jetta for his lack of anything last year but he adds so much more than Sinclair ever could for us as we build towards our 4th flag.

No AFL on Foxtel Go........ WTF?!

Patrick Keane (official AFL media guy) tweeted that West Coast contacted the AFL to advise that they would be only playing 25, rather than 26. the final team will be announced tomorrow.

Just realised Adelaide haven't got Dangerfield ...... we gotta be a chance now !!

Would like to see a solid effort tomorrow , the ruck department looks a concern though . Hopefully Giles shows something if not our midfielders will struggle .

Gov in the ruck.

Much lost in the way of resolution going from phone into TV? I like that idea as we have old phones laying around, so in theory I can leave phone plugged into power and just streaming to TV.

I ended up with a Chromecast 2 ($60) which is the latest model that was released today, my local JB didn't have any Samsung MHL adapters in stock. The quality isn't great through Chromecast 2 (unsure if it's my internet or the afl app / Telstra media player), but not terrible though and I haven't had it cut out yet but it will do the job if you just want to watch some footy. Every now and then the picture will become blurry for about 30 seconds max, and the audio drops a bit as well.
I'll keep playing around with it and see if there's anything I can do but I'm not confident it will get any better. But I can live with it for the pre season.

I'm using chromecast right now off my android phone and it's working perfectly. I've been using it during the Nbl season to watch live games. I've had no problems at all. The poster suggesting they are unstable might have a defective device or slow modem because mine has been very stable and the the stream quality has been high.

Yeah, I ended up with a Chromecast 2 which was released today and it hasn't cut out. Do you find the resolution and audio drops out using the AFL live app? ( if you have it) because mine does it a bit but not to the point where you can't watch it.

so how does chromecast work. Can my ipad 3 be conected to it? I have a smasung galaxsy s5 but i broke it 2 weeks back and i have to wait till june to get another decent phone (using a $12 Phone from coles atm).

secondly how does a vpn work and is it free to download and whats a good site i can get one from?.

It plugs into your TV via HDMI input and then you download the Chromecast app on your phone and set it up, which is really simple. I think the iPads can connect, iPhones do. It's just the same, DL the app and connect and that's it.

VPN's I don't know a lot about but I think you can get free ones but most people I think recommend you buy one (not sure on the cost) I have turbo flix (for Netflix) which is, I'm pretty sure, the same as a VPN, so then I can access all the American Netflix content. So it'll do the same thing for the international membership, just makes it look like you're living overseas basically.

*May or may not have explained that right.

I'm curious as to how we will line up/expirement with our young guys tomorrow. We appear to have adequate experience down back but looking at the midfield and forward like we are likely to struggle. Does anyone think we may try moving Nelson permanently to the midfield for this one and maybe the season proper? I like the way he uses the footy. I'm interested to see the forward line with Allen and McInnes although in aware it will be completely irrelevant come the season proper.

I would imagine hutchings would be in the midfield with the physically smaller guys like duggan and partington I can see allen in the FP with lamb at chf and mcinnes ff

im assuming the side will look like this

FB Schofield Brown Butler
HB ellis Barrass Sheppard
C Lucas Hutchings Jetta
HF Hill Lamb college
FF Karpany Allen Mcinni
R Giles Yeo Duggan
I Cole Partington Adamson Brophey Snadden Bennell Nelsom

Schoey, butler, shep, yeo, duggan, jetta and ellis will be on restricted duties. Midfield will still be pretty solid with lucas, hutchings, colledge, partington and snadden.

I rekon snadden will be the surprise packet from the game, already been named as a kid thats impressed so far and is physically developed for a 19 year old.

Streaming quality from web is always so poor though.

Using Foxtel Go it's great, even on TV.

Really?

Depends on where you're streaming from I suppose.

I downloaded the chromecast app on my ipad and will buy the chromecast tomorrow, however, the AFL app doesnt pop up? so once i purchase the chromecast 2, how do i synch the afl app on to chromecast?

Yeah, unfortuentaly It's not like YouTube or other apps where you just click the Chromecast icon. But it's not difficult either. Just go into the Chromecast app click on the little dropdown menu (the three lines) and click connect or cast or something and and connect to your TV, it will then bring up your phone screen on the TV, go to the afl app, click on the game and enjoy.

* There may be another way to do this but I haven't had time to play around with Chromecast yet it was kind of a last minute closing time decision.

EDIT: And don't stress when you connect this way when your phone screen comes up it won't stay a small vertical picture in the middle of your screen, once you bring up the game on your phone the screen will expand automatically.

Reckon we'll get to see a lot of the best 25 getting midfield time at some point in Adelaide: Ellis, Butler, Shep, Nelson should all be spending more time in the middle than they usually would to get a bit of practice. It's going to be harder to hold a single role down back this year with the reduced rotations and Simo's always preaching versatility. Have loved watching Shep keep improving over the past 18 months, really want to see him keep it up and develop further down the ground.

Expecting Brown to get monstered by the Adelaide forwards for a good part of the match, just as Barrass was last year; he's going to be way off the pace. But hopefully he can have some good moments too.

Game day motherloversss

So Foxtel GO plays AFL games when using Tablet/Phone?
As I use it on PC which doesn't have Fox Footy.

Could I then Chromecast from my Tablet/Phone to the TV?
Yeh it's just blocked on the PC, works on phone/tablet/smart tv's though. I think a few guys have used the chromecast method.
