Seeing Bird in the middle of the ground is sensational. I truely hope he plays Round 1 and beyond. There's just something about him that says "future gun". :thumbsu:

Probably being rested. Though we do have Mullet O'Keefe playing :D
Thank god the Ryan kind doesn't opt for a bogan-ite look.

I want to see him play, but for the past 2 or so years i haven't really had bragging rights over our rookie/senior listed players under 20, and am really excited for them & for us. You're gonna have to take a back seat for this match, RO'K :)

jimmy bartel and some of his cat mates should go the DOK haircut, it'd suit dregs like them MUCH better

One would have to presume Schmidt has some kind of injury. Hard to think of why else he'd be missing. Another absentee who I haven't heard of any injury to is Big Ted. Anyone heard what is up with him?

I'm disappointed that Meredith isn't getting another game. He didn't see a lot of ball last weekend but I thought his instincts and vision when he did get it looked pretty good. He's unlikely to see much (any) real senior football this year (doh!) so it would have been nice to get another glimpse of him now amongst senior players.

you're right, meredith looked good in the bits we saw of him, and i'd have thought definitely worthy of another crack
not sure about ted, i've seen his name mentioned in reports and not to do with any serious injury

I'm disappointed that Veszpremi didn't get a go, but Meredith seems to be more footy ready, instant player type. I'm just very excited about Veszpremi as a prospect and was surprised he never got a go in a competition in which we had nothing to lose.

Incidentally, are you going to the practice match at all on Sunday, Liz?

My guess is that Veszpremi's fitness might not be at the required level yet. He didn't play much football last year as he had some significant injuries and it is likely his fitness base would have suffered as a result. Maybe they're just being cautious with him.

And no, I am not going to the match on Sunday. I may well pop along on Saturday evening, however.;)

Guys, there's no TV coverage, but according to the Port board 5AA is going to be broadcasting it. So maybe feed into their live streaming on their site on the night and see whether that works.

well liz,do we really know whats going on at our club,do we ever know what our true injury list is,no we don't, because the true bloods supporters are always kept in the dark.look at the bazaar situation with crouch and his injuries.
schmidt, richards.veszpremi we as the passionate bloods fans wont to know whats going on at OUR club.
one new story this week on the web, nothing about mal, what about somewhere swans fans can send a message to him,to give him incouragement.
I love our club ,but as true supporters we are really left out.

I get mixed up between the dates of the cricket and footy matches :D

the simple solution to your problem is to avoid all cricket matches
they are a futile pursuit
best to use the off-season (summer) to relax and rest your voice, in preparation for cheering sydney victories through the autumn-winter, and into spring (september)
