From what i've learnt today you Tigers supporters have a sense of humour which I like, good on ya's,:thumbsu: :thumbsu: unlike the Eagles supporters though but that's another subject lol

I wouldn't want to try that theory out if we lose to Carlton in Round 1 lol

So let me ge this right. Sydney were practically full strength and we were basically cubs and we lost by 19 points. Imagine what might have happened if we were full strength.

what would happen if it was a game that actually meant something?

dont get carried away sydney know where they stand and probably had 100 rotations or something stupid

still it was a great effort with this side who wouldve been short people against a fairly solid swans unit

Sydney were a long way from full strength and rotated their senior players a lot.

Sydney we're far from full strength. I think you need to have a look of our squad again, mate! We played the majority of our rookies again and a lot of our kids played as well.

Good effort by the young players. Pretty much the result you would have expected.

Foley was very good again in the 2nd half. Promising signs from Patto, Graham, Schulz, JON + Thursty. :thumbsu:

Tambling also continued to improve!

Schultz looked to have bulked up a bit. He looks ready to have a big season.

good on the young ones.

sydney wernt at full strength but had 4 times the amount of senior players we had.

GOOD JOB BOYS

My god! Sydney we're far from full strength. We we're without a lot of our stars. Just because we had Adam Goodes and Peter Everitt doesn't mean we we're full strength! For example Barry Hall, Nick Davis, Jarrad McVeigh, Lewis Roberts-Thomson, Leo Barry, Luke Ablett and Jared Crouch didn't play and we had a couple of others in our best 22 out! sheesh

ok then you were two players shy of your best side, dont play with us FL, our patience will run out soon...

exactly, its only a prac match, means absolutely nothing.

Good to see that the kids had a dip, doesnt matter if sydney had more senior players, they dont take these game seriously, so the only thing to take out of the game was effort and perhaps some form from a few 22'ers

Exactly mate, I was happy with the form of Simon Phillips:thumbsu: He is pressing for senior selection come Round 1.

From the reports I have read on the AFL site and the Tigers site it seems the kids were far from disappointing and stuck to the task very well. Hawrd to say just how well they went though considering the Swans were missing a number of their better players as well. But after last week which may have dented the confidence a little today shoud give the kids a bit of a lift. Big Positive - NO INJURIES

For what it's worth, I was at the game today (sorry for the late post) and thought our boys did very well. Swannies banged on 3 goals in about the last minute of the 1st quarter - and that was the ball game! Goodes was doing as he pleased with no experienced opponents, but that was to be expected.

Angus Graham impressed me (never seen him before). Howat was our best I thought - apologies to Tambling who was also very good; and young King looks like he'll be something in a year or two. Krak did a bit. Schultz took a screamer up forward, and Reiwolt had a crack though looks like he has a bit learn.

Twas a good idea to play ther kids today, as a club I think we benefitted more from that than we would have running Browny and Richo around in the heat.

cheers.

If only a few Chicken Little's around here had taken that approach after last weekend.:thumbsd:

today was a good result with a bunch of kids against last years grand finalists

last week was an insipid performance with a bunch of senior players against a team we finished higher than last year

point-of-difference mate

i see it, can you?

What a shiit report :thumbsd:
Shiit report froars but from where I was sitting he was spot on with his best players for Richmond. Tambling was easily our best today. Looked a class above most of our blokes and ran rings around a few of theirs. He needs to work on his short passes still, especially in the first quarter (like a lot of others today), but his long kicking was beautiful and he made things happen whenever he was near the ball. He may have missed one easy mark, but he took a few other solid overhead grabs. Don't know what others saw but I saw a number 4 pick running around. :thumbsu:

Johnsons was good today and chipped in with a couple of goals. But although they had plenty of big names, the Swans also had a lot of rookies and young players out there. Today was really about the kids and Johnno was there just for a bit of leadership.

Schulz was lively at CHF in the first half. Ran fairly hard and took some good marks. Moved to the backline in the third quarter. Patto then did some work at CHF and looked more comfortable there than in the ruck, but he did at least make a contest in the ruck although outpointed by the more experienced Swans ruckmen.

Graham looked green in the ruck but did some good work running into the forward line. Kicked a couple of nice goals and gave one off to Hartigan who should have goaled, but missed. Certainly looks like there is more to work with than Knoble.

Howat had another good game. His kicking was again polished this week, better than last week. He got a bit overconfident at times and ran into trouble, but that's excusable in a practice match.

Reiwoldt made a few nice leads in the first quarter, but although we moved the ball nicely to the half foward line, the passing from there in the 1st was atrociuos and usually didn't go anywhere near him. He bobbed up in the last with a few kicks, but looks a bit slight for AFL just yet.

I thought McGuane looked promising at full back, while Hughes looked equally lost at both ends of the ground. Another year at Coburg before that boy is ready.

Thursfield can be satisfied with his first game back from a big injury. O'Loughlin got away from him on th elead once or twice but generally he was pretty composed and used the ball well when he got it. I think he spent quite a bit of time on the bench. With the hot weather they had quite a few on the bench.

Jake King is a bit of a goer but the boy couldn't hit the side of the barn with his kicking today. I'd like to know from some of the Coburg watchers what his kicking is usually like. Hartigan also had a presence but his kicking also lets him down.

Being a practice match there was a fair bit of experimenting going on and players were being thrown all over the place. But the pleasing things was the way the young blokes were prepared to harass the Swans into making errors. The result was fairly immaterial, but at one stage when the Swans looked like kicking away the boys quickly rallied and fought their way into it.
