From the squad that has been named for tomorrows game, what do you think the team will look like? Heres what i think...

FF: Dean Rioli - Matthew Lloyd - Andrew Lovett
HF:Jobe Watson - Scott Lucas - Angus Monfries
C: Mark McVeigh - Brent Stanton - Courtney Dempsey
HB:Ben Jolley - Kepler Bradley - Nathan Lovett-Murray
FB:Joel Reynolds - Dustin Fletcher - Andrew Welsh
R: David Hille - Mark Johnson - Scott Camporeale

INT: Chris Heffernan, Richard Cole, Ricky Dyson, Patrick Ryder, Damien Peverill, Jason Winderlich, Andrew Lee*, Henry Slattery*
EMG: Mark Bolton, Tristan Cartledge
(* = Incase of 8 man interchange)
 
I'm pretty sure the AFL have knocked back the 8 on the interchange bench. Much to the disgust of Brisbane.

Rioli and Cole won't play, I wouldn't think. And I doubt Cartledge will play from that squad. Not sure who the other one to miss out will be, but I doubt it will be Bolton unfortunately.

Lee may well get the match up on Clark, which would be fantastic to see.

Henry Slattery will definately play, back pocket/half back.

And as Longy said, no Rioli or Cole. Probably no Cartledge, and I guess Jolley may be a little unlucky and be the fit player not picked.
 
I reckon Jolley might play. No whisper or anything, just a hunch. We'll need as many midfield options as possible. We nearly killed them for pace last time round and over ran them. I know Jolley isn't quick, but he's another option in the middle. But then again, it's hard to see who might miss out. For mine, it would be Bolton but I just don't see it happening. Perhaps Lee.

I'm bursting to see this match. Be great to see some of the new blokes (including Campo) for the first time and to see how guys like Watson, Reynolds, Slattery and Winderlich have improved over the summer.

Hoping for a bit more emphasis on performance this pre season.
 
Here's a wild guess at what the Brisbane side might look like. I've made the presumption that all senior players named in the squad will take their spot and have selected them in the 18. I've also made the presumption that Bradshaw will play back as he did in their intra-club game on the weekend.

HB: Jayden Attard, Daniel Bradshaw, Jed Adcock

C: Michael Rischitelli, Michael Voss, Troy Selwood

HF: Justin Sherman, Mitchell Clark, Jared Brennan

F: Ash McGrath, Daniel Merrett, Robert Copeland

R: Clark Keating, Luke Power, Simon Black

Int From: Joel Patfull, Joel Macdonald, Cameron Wood, Cheynee Stiller, Rhan Hooper, Pat Garner, Will Hamill, Marty Pask, Marcus Allan, Scott Harding.
 
Yep. We win we play at the Dome next Friday night.

Win that and we host a Semi at the Dome the following Friday. Plenty of incentive to win.
 
Rioli, Cole, Ryder and Lee/ Cartledge to miss out if I was selecting side. I think it would be wise to play as many runners as possible and Bolton is a strong endurance athlete. I am happy jolley is in the squad and would expect him to play unless they surprise and choose to give Cole 30 minutes of match time which is all he looks capable of playing at the moment. Unless Hocking is injured it looks like Jolley may be our top rated rookie. I actually think we will be going all out to win and stay in the competition this year which will give us at least a slight indication of where we are at as a footy team.
 
Word is Ryder is definately playing. His form, as limited as it is, probably demands it.

Hocking is injured, quad I think. But is only a couple of weeks away.

not too mention we have to go in with some back up for Hille, and Cartledge is only borderline fit.

I agree wih your earlier sentiments too, I'd personally leave Bolton out.
 
Good to see Dempsey getting a game, will be a great player IMO. What number is he?

Is Henno fit? Would've expected him to be int he side as a back up ruck with Keps and Ryder.

If he is fit, it is an interesting selection, otherwise - he's f cking injured again.:rolleyes:

We have to win, I can't wait 4 more weeks to attend a live footy game at the Dome.

The official site has Slattery as 15, Dempsey as 20?

In other news, someone posted today about training last Sunday at Carrara and they said that Rioli, Cole and Cartledge were training with the main group and looking good. They were taking part in all the match simulation stuff. So who knows what's going on there. They are supposed to be six weeks away (in Rioli's case) and NQR for this week (Cole and Cartledge) but maybe not I guess.

Yeah I saw that myself. But I'm certain they swapped.
I know they were originally given those numbers but Slattery wanted an even number (superstition). And the original article on the site was changed to reflect that.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow night.


Rioli and Cole won't play. Lock it in. Cartledge is a chance.

i quoted the wrong thing but cant be stuffed goin back now but what gives ya the idea they changed did u see them trainin in oposite numbers or have an inside source?
