Ok it looks like Bachar Houli will at least be in the running for the award this year but who are the players people think will be the most difficult to beat? At present my top six in no particular order would be:

Rioli
Palmer
Houli
Hawkins
Leuenberger
Kreuzer

At present I would have Rioli as the favourite, after that I believe it is very even. From all reports Trent Cotchin could come home with a wet sail...

Im not sure whether its because these young guys get more exposure each year but this years crop seems to be one of the best ever to come through (I guess that includes second year players such as Houli, not just the 2007 draftees).

As much as I hate to say it but you can pretty much put a line through Dempsey, Jetta, and Gumby in terms of winning it this year.

And Why's that?

Westhoff played half a season last year and came close to winning it. Dempsey and Jetta shouldn't miss more than four weeks. Fingers crossed. And Gumby is jut like Westhoff in that he is a key forward. I think they have more of a chance than Hislop.

Have to disagree with you on this one.

He hasn't played a lot of games yet but out of every one of those 8 games he showed a lot of promise and excitment.

I love his courage and confidence in going backwards for a mark into a possibly huge pack, and how he can blitz from our backline and be the starting point of our fast paced midfield when going forward.

Bachar Houli doesnt get any media attention for his performances so he wont win it. (despite the fact he was one of our best against the saints and very good v the dogs aswell)

Speaking of Palmer how has he been going?

I watched him in the National under 18 champs last year and was electric.
He's obviously been able to step up to AFL level?

I'd agree with that but take out Morton for Houli and Leunberger. Alot can happen though.
