Seriously need help making the decision, he has been named to play so for those that have him are we going to take the risk or trade him out now???

Keep him, trades are still gold and he might not need one just yet.

Especially if you have cover for him.

Trade him! He'll bottom out in price, do his shoulder again and leave you without the cash to replace him with a premium.

I'm in the same predicament, I'm bordering on trading him in a 2 trade deal this week so as to get some stability in my team and avoid eating trades up in later weeks. I'm thinking of trading down pretty much and banking about 40k and hoping to use only 1 trade in the next 3 weeks.

It really comes down to weighing the risk of trading him prematurely or having him perform sub par (for his price) and be losing money every week (if he doesn't get injured again or sent to the surgeon).

I personally am not confident Fyfe will play a full game and if he has the typical mental insecurity that comes with having a constant shoulder dislocations he will lose form and with that 30-50k per week.

HOWEVER

I could be, and going by my luck this year, am probably completely wrong.

Good Luck!

Have cover for him, taking the risk and keeping him in. If he's a late withdrawal, then it's time to have a serious think of trading him.

Yep this

As long as he isn't a late withdrawal I'll stick with him, he played last year with a dodgy shoulder and still scored well. There aren't many other players of his quality in the forward line to trade him too either.

Trading him. My reasons is I didn't really wnat to take the risk in the first place but didn't want to be behind everyone who had him if he really burned it. His form in the first two weeks wasn't super and now I think he's a huge risk. Think he will see plenty of attention from now on which he proabably didn't get last year.

Have traded to J Lewins who should be a very consistent if not spectacular scorer. Other than the super premium mids I sense this year will be about getting the best solid options all over the ground.

Got rid of him for Nick Roo. Even if Fyfe manages to get through most of the season I cant see him playing against the likes of GWS and GC, where you would want him to be getting big scores.

Triple M were just talking to Ross Lyon then.

He said that they purposely left Fyfe out this week because if he misses this game, his shoulder will be"20% stronger for next week and he'll have a better chance of having a season like he did last year". He seemed confident Fyfe would play right up until the last minute when they had to withdraw him. He also said if he does it again they'll most likely opt for surgery, which would put him out for 12 weeks.

Fine, but if he's out next week he's being traded. Mind you I'll probably change my mind a further 5 times before lockout.

Oh well, he's gone now so I get to worry about others instead. If I'd read this beforehand I might have kept him but there's no point worrying now.

The thing is though, is that he seemed confident of Fyfe playing yesterday morning, but he still pulled out. Honestly, I dont think Lyon knows the extent of the injury, and is playing it by ear like the rest of us.

I have traded Fyfe, but I wouldnt be surprise if people keep him. He is a 50/50 to play the remainder of the season, he did it last year, which should give people confidence. But I dont think it would be a smart move by Freo to play him injured for the rest of the season, given his last surgery only lasted 2 games. It will hurt them but surgery is probably the best option for the long term. Too much risk involved.
