Very underrated on this board is Browny. Beats his opponent every week and shows great leadership down back. He's had a terrific year and should definitely be in the all Australian discussion.

No doubt in my mind he'll be out next premiership full back and deserves some praise for the great year he has had.

Very good season, he does wear Scott Pendlebury's old number, 16, so hes got to be good

Anyone who doesn't think that he is the General down back, needs only look at the result of the Richmond game. Without him we look lost and have no real replacement.

Good to have him back this week, 10/10 contributor week in, week out.

Not underrated, modern defenders need to provide some offence to their defensive work to be considered great defenders... Brown's offence is truly horrendous.

Having a good season though, better than I expected.

Was great to see the Premiership FB and CHB back together
A great and true pleasure; they work very well toether.
Obviously both need injury free runs at it, but they gell well.
We started to see the longer kicking from reid. Whilst i like the snowman and admire his attitude etc he would need to do more and punish his opponents more. This is where Reid and Brown seem to go far better.

I'm just really wrapped he's been able to play a full year without any major injury. Very important and very good player for us.

Very underrated, on this board and by the whole football community.

I don't think that's necessarily true. You can carry Brown's lack of attacking quality but not when you've got Frost and Toovey in the same side. There has to be some kind of balance.

As indeed there was when Frost and Toovey were replaced in the backline and Pendlebury was parked in defence. With Reid downfield Brown was able to subdue Hawkins and allow others to deliver the ball with a greater degree of accuracy and skill into our forwards. The new midfield was dominant and convincing, and our negators were effective against Geelong's star. Brown looks good in a defence and midfield structure that handle the ball cleanly.

Our backline looked better all round on Friday night with the old firm of Messrs Brown and Reid holding up the structure. The cool and calm presence of Pendles helped enormously, meaning we had three experienced heads down there. The flow on effect was noticeable. Langdon also had a better game.

If it was an experiment, it worked, even allowing for Menzel's fine performance. Not sure this augurs well for Tooves and Frost.

His skills at becoming a "lock down" defender are becoming very good....not Presti like yet, but he is getting there
