Hey Dogs supporters. Just thought you might be interested to know that nathan Eagleton having retired from Norwood in the SANFL has been cleared to play for his former junior club Happy Valley in the SA Southern Football League. What makes it interesting is that the A Grade will then consist of 4 Eagleton brothers, Nathan, Damian, Micheal and Jon, all playing for their former junior club.

To add some extra Bulldog flavour, the team is coached by ex Bulldogs defender Matthew Dent. Currently sitting second on the ladder, can only get better with Eagleton's inclusion. Hope this is of interest to you, if not disregard.:)

Cheers, there was a thread about Eagleton last year... we sure could use someone who can kick like him
As a Valley Viking boy myself, I'm glad we'll be enjoying his kicking skills!! Great to see some of these blokes come back to their roots, now we just need our other juniors Ben Rutten, Jason Porplyzia and Beau Waters to come back to the Valley.

It goes alright mate. It's in the mid Southern suburbs of Adelaide, basically in the Adelaide Hills. It's much happier when we win premierships!!
What are they?

There you go, 4 Eagle Boys ready to go this weekend!!

A BURNING desire to finish his footy days playing with his three brothers is about to be realised for former SANFL and AFL star Nathan Eagleton

Eagleton, 33, signed recently with Happy Valley Football Club where his brothers, Michael and Jonathan, already were playing.

Another brother, Damian, also signed with the Vikings recently and he had played three B-grade games at the time of writing.

Eagleton said he was counting the days until this Saturday when he ran out for the Vikings (against Noarlunga), possibly with some or all of his brothers alongside.

"It's really going to be exciting," he said.

"This is my old stomping ground and my motivation for coming back to the club.

"I played a couple of B-grade finals for the club when I was 15 (1994) but this will be my first A-grade game.

"When I was younger I watched the A graders (Valley) run out and wished I could be like them.

"Then I left to go to West Adelaide and then got drafted (Port Adelaide, Western Bulldogs). I've never played with all my brothers and I can't wait if we do get the chance to do that.

"It will be a thrill for my dad Michael and mother Shirley - they can now stay at the one ground to watch us instead of racing all over the place." Meanwhile, Happy Valley still has tickets available for its sports night, after Saturday's game against Noarlunga, featuring former footy stars Doug Hawkins and Russell Ebert, media legend Ken Cunningham and comedian Russell Gilbert.

Judging by that photo I'd be looking in to buying some paternity tests if I was the Eagleton boys father. o_O
If I judge their paternity by their footy ability, they are definitely the same stock. All 3 of Nathan's brothers are absolute guns. Will be great watching the Festival of The Eagleton this weekend!!

Nah, Jon looks like a Nathan mini - me and the others would look pretty similar without the hair

Jonny would be the best of the 4 in footy ability, but is one of those guys who loves playing footy for the fun and then have a beer after the game. If he had the application, would definitely have made it at the elite level.

Eagleton was very underrated in another sense, his charisma and playing ability attracted quite a lot of new supporters contrary the popular belief, Im sure our very own Pigdog and Tonydean would attest to his influence.

Great story - I like AFL footballers going back to their old clubs, or bush, when they finished playing AFL.

Our league is attracting a few ex AFL boys. Jordan McMahon has signed with another team in our comp the Brighton Bombers. Former Carlton player Brett Backwell is playing for Morphettville Park and it has been confirmed that Michael Doughty will play for Reynella next year. They can earn OK dollars, but most do it for the fun.

Interesting that apparently McMahon thinks he will get 40 possessions each week, but experience shows that many of the ex SANFL guys underestimate the talent and come away quite surprised by how hard, skilled and quick these teams can be. The only worry is when you get some hack that wants to make a name for himself by taking out one of the former 'stars'. Fortunately to date this hasn't happened.

True - same concern was expressed with Hall and Fev playing in the O&M- fortunately nothing like that happened.

Is he free to play the remainder of the year at the Doggies?
