The only thing Mick39 has done wrong is post his thoughts on here, (it would appear).
If that's his opinion on the matter so be it.
His opinion cannot be wrong; it can however, differ from that of others.

I was however I wasn't a professional footballer recovering from 2 years of chronic soft tissue setbacks. If you knew anything about what effect drinking alcohol when you are injured you wouldn't oppose my questioning.

Sharrod Wellingham was suspended by the club 3 years ago when he was caught drinking during a time he had a soft tissue injury.

If it was a few weeks ago then his season was over. He has the next 6 months to get right. I don't think a night on the grog is going to do too much damage. If he was trying to get back before the end of the season I would understand. I agree with the others emailing the club is poor form.

I dont want to be that guy, but if we do aquire Treloar and Aish, who gets pushed out of the side to make way for Freeman?

Pendles, Steele, Adams, Greenwood, Treloar, Aish, De Goey as a relatively young core, who gets pushed out? Not to mention the plethora of players we have rotate through the middle in Swan, Varcoe, Marley, Elliot and Langdon as he did in parts towards the backend.ß

He is talented but lacks defensive pressure and tends to run one way (cite the coaching staff giving him sprays in the 2's for his lack of defensive work), which to some degree rules him out as a small forward or any other real versatile roles.

Talented as heck and at the moment provides solid depth, but is he as important a signing as Sharenberg given our list atm? No way. If he walks will we be fine? Yes

That's why it's not a bad idea to trade out a few guys, I think Seedsman, Oxley and Freeman could be traded which I'd be comfortable with, you can't win them all.

I think if we can trade out Freeman for pick 23, could 7 and 23 get it done for GWS? What if part of the Freeman trade was to move up two spots, with the Saints also potentially trading out that pic. so pic 5 and 23?

It's really hard to please those guys that is GWS cause they seem to have all cover based.

Really an email to the club? To tell them what exactly - that a 20yo kids was not breaking the law or actually doing anything wrong other than having a drink when his season was over.

That is some sense of entitlement to buying a membership. You get seats , a game and some other niceties with the membership. Getting a say in how someone lives there life and/or setting the standards of a club may be a little too much to expect for your membership.

I say just about all Players on the List got Stuck in to the Alcohol once the season Finished

His season wasn't over. He was still training and in the rehab group when I saw him making a fool of himself.

Give it a rest.

Could say you where Harsh on Moore, Maynard and Marsh
As I said.. they look like hits but I was trying to be objective/factual and given that they've played like 7 games each it's too early to make any call... hence the "uncertain" tag. I am fairly confident they will all prove to be great selections though from the small sample size we've seen so far.

If I was Pert the reply would have been..."mind your own business!"

And that's probably why you're not Pert? :P Based on that email he handled it very well. The response gave away nothing whilst also being polite and not seeming aloof.

I fork out a legends membership every year for my wife and myself. I expect the players to be diligent, professionals and ambassadors for the club.

Seeing a player recovering from a soft tissue injury by getting drunk and making a public fool of himself is something that grinds my gears.

Define "making a public fool of himself"? Genuine question by the way. There's being drunk and then there's being out of line - what are you talking about?

His opinion cannot be wrong; it can however, differ from that of others.

Not quite - in his debut post he was alleging a series of "facts" (not opinions) to paint a player and the club in a bad light. Player was pissed in public. Email was sent to club. Club said they were happy with it.

Those "facts" are entitled to be scrutinised and corroborating evidence requested - especially in support of the central "fact" that player was pissed in public while still part of rehab group training.

Wasnt Sharrod also drunk driving Hodge style? That's a bit different and apart from anything else caused TAC to pull their sponsorship.

Not the issue down at Lorne. Shar rod was suspended by the club prior to Round 1 in 2012 for drinking whilst he was injured.

Yep, fair call.
Your post made me go back to the original post and I noticed Mick39 sent a response to their reply, be interested to know what you wrote Mick?
Thanks for giving us Perty's contact details too!

Great bloke, went to school with him, still remember the look on his face when he knew collingwood were grabbing him; by far his least favourite club and apparently still is. Will be playing for St Kilda next year take it to the bank.
I can cop this.

Just out of curiosity. You do realise that your entire list hates your football club yeah?

What would be Freeman's grievances against the club? Does he think they've mismanaged his injuries?

It sounds odd that a 19yo who has not played a game would want to up and leave, he must have reasons to be annoyed at the club.

But Balme's comments sound ominous.
But Balmey was with KB, he always gets a stupid sh... Stirring from KB
Im amazed he purs up with kevin as politely as he does
kB has a weird humour and is a very odd man

He won't reply, LeppaMessiah was trolling.
That's okay. Im okay with him trolling. Doesn't mean I can't remind him that his club is ran by a bunch of monkeys and they're forever spiraling into the circle of irrelevancy because their problem to fix it is to blame Eddie.

I'll drink to a shit Brisbane all day!

Don't worry you've got my support. I'm 100% not a teetotaller, but it boggles the mind that professional athletes feel the need to drink in season...

That's not going away any time soon - I'd start looking for an AA meeting and/or liver transplant waiting list to join if I were you...

People can agree with your comment and still disagree with Mick39. They may in fact be two different issues for discussion.

Got no issues with a few quiet drinks myself, after all these guys are human.

But it boggles the mind why a club would sit back and allow a young player to hit the turps when hes under going a serious soft tissue injury.

I must admit Scodog, you do paint a very worrying picture of our sport science department and rehabilitation coordinators. I must admit, given my work in sport science and injuries I actually had my doubts for a few months now, but little snippets you give off make me wonder about the entire process within the club, and who if anyone is looking over it.

Or maybe Im just naive enough to think professional sporting clubs aren't as professional as I always thought they were. After all, I did choose not to work with athletes for this exact reason.

I don't mind drinking myself. But the incident occurred directly after the Melbourne game.

The following Monday Neil Balme said in his injury report that Nathan had a setback and was back in the rehab group. Drinking when you are injured is unprofessional.
