Well first off, Live 2004 is going to be better than 2K3, if you are going to compare, then at least compare both new versions. 2K3's 2004 version has changed names, it wont be called 2K4, instead the new title is now ESPN Basketball.
So if we are comparing ESPN Basketball v NBA Live 2004, then no contest, ESPN in a landslide. But then again, Im a simulation guy, I like grinding out a realistic 94-87 win where real plays happen, realistic stats are kept and it is as close to real NBA as you can get.
Others though love Live 2004 because Shaq can take it coast to coast, crossover T-Mac and then spin to the hole for a tomahawk dunk. Whereas in ESPN Basketball, Shaq would really park in the post, back his man down and turn and dunk it on him. That's real and thats why I play ESPN Basketball.
But if you love the razzle and dazzle where everyone from Earl Boykins to Tim Duncan has 3 point range and Tim Hardaway like crossovers, and everyone in the league including Steve Nash can throwdown underneath the legs jams...and the final score of every game is 150-160 etc....then Live is your thing.
Personally Im a 2K man, or nowadays, an ESPN Basketball man.
