Well to put it bluntly. I think your wrong :D

If the Lakers actually make the playoffs then they should go deep but I cant see them beating the Kings or Mavericks, Spurs may give them some trouble too.

Im still sticking with my preseason pick of Sacramento for the biggest prize in all of basketball. Mavericks will test them, then come Spurs, New Jersey (playing delightful ball without Deke) and Indy on the second line of betting. Lakers are the outsider.

jod23, well, i haven't really followed NBA as closley for about 2 or so seasons, only through the net and highlights or an odd game. But if i still think if SHAQ gets healthy, the wins will clock up and then we will see how they handle the big guy. And dont forget Kobe.

When i was really started getting into basketball, like buying cards and that, was when webber andco were all drafted. Its good to see him doing so well after injuries and that, i like watching him play and kidd is class. What is Hardaways story???

Shaq not healthy is an excuse. He looks to be just about his old self now yet they are still losing games. They may make a run and squeeze into the playoffs but im not sure they will get much further.

Hardaway was hit by injuries and was never the same player. He wasnt all that before the injuries though anyway.

So the 21.7 points (51.3% FG), 7.1 assists, 4.3 boards, 2 steals a game in the 95-96 season before coming down with injury the following season was imaginary? If the bloke's name was MJ you'd be saying how great he was.

Injury tore his career apart

Oh he was a good talent. But he was not the superstar, future hall of famer that the media and almost everyone else seemed to think.

Rubbish
If MJ put up those sort of numbers this season you would be carrying on saying how good he is. Penny had the potential to be all of the above, until injury screwed him up. He had a vertical leap slightly smaller than that of a fit Kemp or McDyess. He would dish the rock, steal, score and board.

You can say now he isn't a superstar. But back then, the key word is potential, and with a season like 95-96, how can you say anything but.

Any team that J. Kidd is running will be 2003 world champions.
This man is the best PG in the world ATM - he is that good, he could probably lead the Victoria Giants to a regular season NBL victory........then again??....;)

If J-Kidd joined the Giants right now...they would win every regular season game they had left, make the playoffs and go all the way. Kidd would bitchslap NBL teams.

Of course I would be carrying on about MJ if he put up those numbers this season....he is ALMOST 40 YEARS OLD!

Look Penny was a great talent but I saw him becoming like a Ray Allen. A star who could be a go to guy for a team but never a superstar like a Kobe, T-Mac, Kidd etc...

Shaq made Penny look a lot better than he was.

Jod, The last part was in jest the first part was serious - Kidd is a genius!

He certainly is. I remember when Hill and Kidd shared ROTY honours back in 95, 96 was it? I remember thinking to myself, I will watch these two guys with interest to see which one really goes on with it. Early in their careers Hill was the clear leader I thought but now sadly chopped down by injury and Kidd really coming on in the last few years....well it's still tough to pick.

I think a fully fit Grant Hill though is the slightly better player....maybe.
