Well folks, the opening round of what will be the most exciting NBL season ever, is nearly upon us, so what better time to lodge our tips for the season opener!!!
Wed Sep 19
Gold Coast V Brisbane - The Blaze will be pumped up in their NBL debut, especially against their future arch-rivals in the Bullets. Most teams win in their basketball debuts, so I'm expecting the Blaze to get up 102-96.
West Sydney V Townsville - The Razorbacks will be breathing fire after 2 horrible seasons and I expect them to commence 2007/08 on the right track. 90-82.
Singapore V Melbourne - Round 1 can throw up some funny results, and I think the Slingers may surprise the Tigers here after the long flight. 111-100
Thu Sep 20
New Zealand V Cairns - The Breakers are aiming for their maiden play-off year, so will be viewing the Taipans as their bench-mark. I think they'll be up for the occassion for a 107-96 win.
Fri Sep 21
Adelaide V Wollongong - The new look Sixers will be fired up and ready to go from the very start. Expecting a blow out here. 118-93
Sat Sep 22
Cairns V Townsville - North QLD derbys are always clinkers, and I'm expecting no exception here. Taipans to win a thriller at home to send the Crocs to 0-2 and a poor start to the season. 98-97
South Dragons V West Sydney - The Dragons are eyeing off a top 4 spot for this season, with Cortez Groves on board, and will be too good at home for the Razorbacks. 113-100
Sydney V Gold Coast - The Blaze will continue a memorable opening weekend, and catch the Kings unawares in a shoot-out at the King-Dome (which the Kings don't like). 122-115.
Sun Sep 23
Perth V Singapore - The Wildcats will be strong as ever in 2007/08 and should have no problems in this Sunday game against Singapore at home. Probably will be the largest margin of the weekend. 108-80
EDIT - Melbourne V Wollongong - Tigers to open their account for the season with a solid win over the Hawks, who will have an opening weekend to forget. 102-85
