ESPN announcing that Notre Dame will follow UCONN into the ACC (for Basketball only, Football stays Independant)

Another big Basketball school abandons Big East. Really is an issue and it doesn't seem like they will do anything about it.

More worried about adding Mid level schools like Temple, while the main schools are disappearing, weakening the overall quality of the Conference ... which will lead to worse RPI and scheduling, less schools being invited to the Tournament, less high ranked recruits wanting to join the conference, etc.

Would not be surprised to see MSG ask the ACC to hold their end of year Tournament there in the future.

More just a big story to start the year. Nothing much happening atm :)

Can we hate the ACC anyway?
Of course :D

UCONN going to ACC now?

I tought it was only SYracuse and Pittsburgh?

UCONN have made a few statements saying that they have long lasting history in the Big East, and that the "We have prestigious institutions that are excited to be a part of the Big East. We remain committed to making the Big East stronger than it has ever been"

Although a Yahoo writer made a tweet that the ACC is looking for a Basketball only school to create a 16 team conference, and Georgetown were the logical choice.

I wouldn't think Goergetown will go to the ACC. The ACC will probably have high hopes that one day they can drag Notre Dame football in. If they grab a Georgetown, when (well, if) they bring in Notre Dame they'll need another football team. When they bring in someone else it makes it 17 basketball teams. That's jut getting ridiculous and they'd probably want 1 more to make it even. What I can see happening though is Marquette, DePaul, Georgetown, Villanova, Seton Hall, St Johns, Providence and maybe some of the Atlantic 10 schools like Butler, Dayton, Duquense, St Bonaventure, Saint Josephs, St Louis or Xavier setting up a new conference. Where they don't have to worry what the hell football schools are doing.

Yeah, I don't see GU moving either, because similar to UCONN, we are a founding member, and put in so much to get it where it is today (or more like 2 years ago), and leaving would leave history and everything else behind. Plus the fact that the ACC has a DC based area school in Maryland who have a bigger national fan base. The school most discussed as being next would be Villanova. Decent in both Football and Basketball, and a different market that the ACC doesn't really have control of (Philly). And this move is almost definitely just a way to ease Notre Dame completely into the ACC. Give the fans 5 years of exposure to semi regular games against ACC opponents, before making the full move.

Does anybody know if Florida will be a highly ranked school for the upcoming season?

Man i follow the gators i dont really have a team but i take a keen interest in them.

The Gators this year are ranked around 15-16 these are pre season rankings

This year Patric Young is returning for his Junior year which is a big plus for the team he is on NBA teams radars and this will likely be his last year because he will probably declare.

the others im not to sure about i only just started getting in to college ball last year.

Next year though o lawd the Gators are looking at one of the best recruiting classes in the USA they already have commitments from 5* PG Kasey Hill and 5* PF Chris Walker.

4 a.m.: Houston Baptist at Hawaii. A little sleep never hurt anybody.

Even CBS are advising against that game.

Yeah i know both those teams suck eggs i have never even heard of Houston Baptist.
I might be wrong, but do they play in the Southland conference?

Shit just checked out our very own Dante Exum on rival's and he is a 5* recruit didnt think he was that good already has an offer from the tarheels.

Just watched him play a bit against the kiwis in the u19s. The guy is a real play-maker. Not really there yet with his shooting though but his play-making ability and athleticism is impressive.

Someone on this board said a relative of his once played for NC... That may factor into why the Tarheels are after him?
