Neagle who?

All i'm hearing from Essendon supporters is Neagle this, Neagle that? But why is it i've never heard of him - is the kid actually any good? or just another rubbish bomber being talked up by their supporters? They're all quick to shoot us down when we talk up our young kids, but some of the stuff i'm hearing is deplorable.

No one else knows who they are but us, yet we will talk them up because they are the future of the club (hopefully).

In other words, supporters of not so successful teams will point the finger to certain kids in hope that one day they may bring them back to success.

Merv Neagle is just another kid who Essenden supporters believe will bring back the glory days, they thought this of Courtney Johns too.

If your own supporters aren't positive or hopeful of the kids you have then who else will be.

That would be amazing, but I think it will be a bit closer than that.

As much as I know. He's 20. Was drafted under the father/son rule in 05?. Has had quite a few injuries over the last few years. Has played 6 or 7 Senior games all up. Kicked 3 last week and kicked 4 in a NAB cup game. Listed at 191cm 98kg. V/quick off the mark and good skills for his size. Also pretty aggresive.

Even as a Carlton supporter I'll have to admit, Jay Neagle is a promising kid. Bigger guys, especially key forwards, take more time to come on than smaller guys. You should take alot of heart Essendon fans, he's shown some stuff. Can play in defence too.
Let's just worry about our own players instead of bagging out opposition clubs because they talk up their talent. Essendon are rightly talking up Jay Neagle's promising footy.
