One year officially since we drafted him with the final pick of the 2024 Mid-Season Draft

What a steal and star

MSD is the perfect spot to draft someone raw like Long with a beast body and then try improve his football

That Long has progressed better than Eyre, Bytel and Sullivan does nothing to detract from them being seen as more senior ready by the club than Long during that SSP process. That things change doesn’t equate to anyone making a wrong decision at a point in time.

Point being we were lucky and very grateful to get a second go at him.

I think it’s generally accepted that Eyre was a risk but possibly a risk worth taking, but Bytel was a bad decision.

Pretty sue they don't, otherwise we would have already had a recent dynasty like Brisbane (01-03), Geelong (07,09,11,22), Hawthorn (08, 12-14) and Richmond (17, 19, 20).

I'm used to copping personal abuse here the moment I say anything different to what the club is doing, my simple minded individuals.

Last time I checked Collingwood FC is not an organisation aligned with Benito Mussolini, despite some people here believing any argument different to the club's decision is an attack against it!

Really good article. My 2 outtakes:

1. Ned seems like such a humble person. The way he speaks highly of the Hawks midfield and holds no grudges speaks volumes of the type of person he is. I want him to have a long and successful career.
2. Can we make sure Fraser and Otten receive a hefty referral bonus?

You have to wonder how many more Long and Mioceks are out there.

Long was injured during the first half of the season so probably didn’t put his absolute best foot forward, but showed enough to be grabbed in the midseason draft. What a great decision.
