Play spot the non-victorian Clubs in the new AFL ads, ie the Auskick 'gimme that thing', and the 'benefits of membership' one. I think I'll stick to wheres Wally! :p
Says alot about the AFL really, that 'A' is just an upside-down 'V' :thumbsd:

I thought the same thing when I first watched the 'benefits of membership' one, until I noticed that they have a number of them.

One has the Port Supporter flashing his membership at his missus as an excuse from getting away with not mowing the lawn (looked like a housing trust home).
Also, note at the end of it that Kochie is standing there at the front with his Port tie on.
Given Port's smaller membership base (albeit still more than most Vic clubs), the AFL are giving us a hand.
Adelaide can't fit anymore members in, neither can WC and Freo are going great guns.

This ad is just another way for the AFL to desperately cling to 10 victorian teams and in the process wasting money. The interstate teams are the ones who are primarily getting the big crowds (I know I know, the big 4/3) and bringing in the money. These are good times for the AFL but they need to be careful, this favouritism combined with their greed and subsequent Pay TV dealings... I just hope they don't stuff it all up.:(

I just saw the same ad and although I have seen the Port supporter re: the lawn perhaps I was seeing things but it looked like they had a St kilda supporter instead of the Port guy but everything else the same. Was I seeing things (not watching closely) or is this a similar but slightly different alternative ad? (ie they show both) Does anyone know?

And I noticed the Housing trust home also, perhaps a coincidence or maybe it just looks like that since he's been going to the footy instead of doing housework?! Sorry but I cant help laughing at the steriotype.

What about other non-victorian teams?

They're not wasting money, advertising was part of the tv rights deal. They may as well show something, and i thought the gimme dat thing ad was an NAB ad, what does the AFL have to with that?
