The reason I am posting this in the main forum, is because only an 8th of people who signed up for dream team are still in line for their flags, and I figure some of you may have started focussing on next year and stopped looking at your teams.

There is a '30 second survey' link that greets you when you log in to your dream team this week, which asks questions surrounding trades, the biggest point of concern is the notion of being able to buy a sponsers product (presumably coke) to gain more trades.

If you have a spare 2 mins log in and take the survey, the last thing we want is for dream team to turn into even more of a farce.

{Moved - it doesn't belong on the AFL board}

Done.

1 team, 20 trades, no top ups by buying Coke.

A sydicate put me out in the prelim this year and I'm seriously p1ssed off.

If anything I'd like a slight discount on retaining players from the previous year or the market price from last year carrying over.

what a joke, buying bottles of coke for more trades. It would mean hundreds of dream team fans picking up rubbish coke bottles after the footy just to collect the points :D:D

I didnt even know about buying more trades with purchase of coke products, maybe i should read the conditions. Haven't had any trades available for the past 6 weeks. Still happy with what i've got though, in the main grand final for my league.

cheers

Why am I only finding out about this now??? I had Bartel (captain), J.Selwood and Ling all collect 0's and I lost by 25 points (stopped setting line-ups since I had no trades left) :(

These are suggested changes, they aren't in place yet which is why everyone needs to take the survey, to ensure they don't.

everyone also hit contact us and tell them not to change anything. if enough people do this they should leave it alone.

Yeah it's fine how it is.

On the dream team forum everyone is whinging to change the rules, mainly the players who didn't do so good I'd say.
Even saying "bring back the premium and standard styles", which i think was far worse.

It's better this year than it's ever been IMO.

Do you not think players are too cheap compared to the salary cap?

Love this idea. Last year I picked an actual football side and didn't make the top 8 of DT or SC.

This year I've made the PF in both of my leagues (pretty strong leagues by the look of it too) and one got knocked over by six points in one and the other is going into the grannie.

The biggest change I would like to see is rather than stats just been raw stats - how you actually go against your opponent. It looks great if you have had 25 possessions but if your opponent has had 40, you have been clobbered.

There could be a slight change but a complete overhaul, like some are suggestiong, is unnecessary.

I would like to see players matching up on each other.

I lost in the prelims this year, and i'm annoyed because i scored higher than both the teams in the other prelim. ARGH!

If they bring that in re purchasing products for more trades then i WONT PLAY next year .I will take my ball elsewhere and kick with someone who plays fair .

No extra trades for purchase of sponsor product!!! They'd lose me, my entire league and a lot of coaches if they tried to pull that scam! Stop putting a goddamn $$$ sign on every thing in the world!!!!!!

Four Emergencies makes sense.

I would like to see a lower salary cap and more trades available - there's a whole tier of AFL players that don't get considered because they're not either a) Guns or b) Cheap Rookies. Should be reward for spotting guys taking the next step, without becoming superstars. Too many look-a-like teams this year. This would help prevent this.... as would a greater proportion of players being categorised as "back" or "forward", rather than all being classed as midfielders.

Great if you could enter the one team in a number of leagues.

I'd like to see an alternative competition where each AFL player can only be chosen by one coach per league.

ha. I did exactly that before even seeing this thread, i let em have it too. What a shocker some of those changes.

And if they allow more than 1 team per coach, we'll only ever see the geeks with 100+ teams and absolutely no life win anything.

The one change they should make is to allow 4 emergencies.
I suggested this earlier in the year and someone on here told me well that's unrealistic because in reality teams only ever name 3 emergencies.

But what's unrealistic is teams with 3 emergencies, all except say ruck, have a ruck pull out and then decide, well, we'd better just go in with 1 less player because none of our 3 emergencies are actual rucks!

They should introduce a vice-captain rule somehow too. If there's any key late withdrawals this week, it could cost people flags.

must have had a lot of complaints from the *******s that can't coach wingeing they don't have enough trades blah blah blah. Doesn't do justice the minority that actually plans out their season. I think being able to have a team in multiple leagues is the way to go. If that's not possible then multiple teams will have to go ahead, i have at least 2 leagues, mates league and work league and it's frustrating updating the teams.

I think the general trend is that we will have the ability to trade more next season, i think the cash in points fr more trades is the likely scenario since that is implemented in many other fantasy comps around the world.

All in all no good:thumbsd:

there is its called fantasyfootball.net.au or something but u have to pay for more than 4 teams per league, its not as good as dt tho

players to match up on each other somehow. both coaches have input.

e.g. kane cornes on bartel.
bartel gets 128
kornes gets 118

bartel wins by 10 but you also get an additional 10 points for winning the matchup.

Don't see any real difference.
