Appears to be far more informed and less pessimistic discussion on the club here than on the Fan Forum so would enjoy contributing.

I've got JPEG to add as one of those great pictures next to the user name. How do you do that?

Doh! O.K. so I've read the FAQs now.

Anyone prepared to stick their neck out and discuss who will be our next coach.

I admit to being pro-Thomas at this stage, he seems to have proved enough to me so far. No doubt that could be argued to be accepting mediocrity but with about 7 core players out injured we struggle against the top teams.

Any thoughts

welcome hiort neamh, you've picked a good week to join bigfooty. what a great win against the hawks.

now i might be ignorant but where did you get your nic from and what does neart tre dilse mean? just curious.

last nights win should make absolutely no difference to the boards decision as to whether thomas should be coach or not. i still feel uneasy about the circumstances surrounding thomas' involvement in the sacking of blight as it looks like thomas has sacked one of the great coaches to fulfill his own personal ambitions. having said that i have been impressed with the way that thomas has handled himself in the face of one of the fiercest media attacks i have ever seen on a st kilda person, and i've seen a few. when patrick smith launched his snide and malicious attack on thomas using rod butterrs words that 'thomas eats pressure for breakfast' smith couldn't possibly have fathomed that it is probably true. thomas has worn every bit of criticism from the whole football world from inside and outside the club with calmness and has simply got on with the job at hand. quite impressive really.

the fact that high profile players in hamill, harvey and loewe have come out publicly and said that thomas has the makings of a very good coach because he is a players man and has good communication skills hasn't hurt thomas chance of getting the job.

if you take out the two interstate games the players have definately been playing with a bit more desire and comittment.

if thomas is the man for the job then the board have to make one of the gutsiest decisions in our recent history, a decision as big as the one to get rid of blight. if he is the man for the job then the club should stop the charade of going through the processes' and simply appoint him and get on with the job.

interesting times ahead for us, again ....... n
