Richo in his 4th quarter interview during the internal trial on Saturday started talking how he is now a 4 car family and he went into the RAA and got his Port member discount on each car, which I think he said was about $50 per car.

Saw the other sponsor thread bumped and made me think has anyone ever got an RAA discount from any of their services saying they are a Port member?? Car insurance? I know they have travel discounts but for cars I haven't seen anything since they came on board on 2015. I have a car insurance policy to renew in a few weeks time.

There is nothing on this members offers from our partners page under the drop box top left hand side of the club's website under the MEMBERSHIP options.

You would hope the club are pushing for some synergy with new MG purchases and RAA insurance policies when people talk to Freda Curran, our Motor Vehicle Business Development Manager - MG who my understanding is doing for members who buy MGs, what Steve Hunt used to do when members who bought Renaults.

You can get a reasonable energy deal with Simply Energy via the RAA. I cannot see that Simply Energy's rates are any cheaper but they give a 20% discount on your bill if you pay on time. I ran my bill through the Australian Government calculator and Simply Energy came up the cheapest supplier anyway so i guess I am not far away from a reasonable deal.

RAA Insurance used to plug the fact that their vehicle insurance was under written by Lumley's of London but I am not sure that it is still the case. My father, who worked in crash repairs for 40 years, used RAA Insurance and my impression was that it was very comprehensive and reliable but it was also pretty expensive. Like they say your insurance company is only as good as your first claim. Best way to check is do an online quote and compare it with your current cover and policy. If you do make sure you have the same excess and all inclusions covered.

I meant I have an RAA car insurance policy due. I'm not changing insurer.

If I can get $50 off because I'm a Port member I want to know how. I usually just pay online. I would like to know if anyone has used the Port member card with RAA, and if so, was it over the phone or in person, and what proof did you have to give??

Koch in the Season Launch said RAA have signed on for another 5 years as a Platinum Partner.

2015 - March, when this thread started, they signed on as a Premier Partner - next level down from Platinum
2020 - upgrade to Platinum Partner for 5 years
2025 - re-sign as a Platinum Partner for another 5 years

As I said in the GFG thread they would be paying at least $500k and closer to $750k. Macron and Tyrepower are the other 2 Platinum Partners and they are 2 of the 6 x $1m+ a year partners.
