Tipping it will be this guy, or a long shot Tony Free.

MALCOLM SPEED
Malcolm Speed was appointed to the board in October 2011. Malcolm is a former barrister and sports administrator. He was CEO of Cricket Australia (1997-2001) and the International Cricket Council (2001-2008) as well as holding senior positions in basketball during the 80's and 90's. He is now occupied in a range of sport-related activities as a university lecturer, consultant, and company director where his appointments include Golf Australia, Victorian Major Events Company and the Coalition of Major Professional and Participation Sports.

Speed sounds really impressive when he speaks. They had him in the studio on SEN to talk cricket earlier in the year and seemed like a ripper bloke and mentioned he was keen to step in after March left but that the decision would be made by the board.

now March is gone who are the likely candidates ?

Sheeds ? lol

The two main candidates are Speed and O'Shannessey. There is apparently a third existing board member who is also interested,

i think we need a president that is outspoken and dosent take crap and only accepts the best for the tigers.

There's been a few poster's on this board that have been saying for a while that the club has needed to go out and recruit some speed.

Speed is the obvious standout with his experiance in sports administration, it will be somebody already on the board almost certainly.

Being a mad cricket follower (and I'm sure some of you are too), Malcolm Speed would be good as president. Hopefully he gets appointed as Tigers president.

He did a good job when in charge of Cricket Australia and then in charge of the International Cricket Committee (ICC).

Cheers.

LMAO, yeah alright, give you that one ;)

Speed is what we need!

Sounds like a good operator and well credentialed. Hopefully the changing of the guard keeps the stability we have at the club going.
