The oil reserves in Venezuela are worth over $17 Trillion. That’s more than any other country in the world and more than every country’s GDP except for America & China.

This is what the US has done for centuries.

South and Central America dreamed of being free and independent and fought the Spanish for decades to get their freedom. They were led by Bolivar (among others) who (for all his flaws and there were plenty) inspired South Americas to this very day. Chavez named Venezuala after Bolivar when he took power - calling it the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Originally Chavez had very high ideals and aims for what his republic would be and it took a concerted effort from global capitalism to **** them up.

Let’s say there were no sanctions imposed on Venezuelas oil and Maduro was able to line his pockets and help raise the people from poverty, wouldn’t that be better than it being a puppet regime that has to run the money through a corrupt country like the US?

No reason all their citizens couldn’t be absurdity rich in a socialist system sitting on $17 trillion dollars worth of oil with a population of 29 million people.
