Portentous tonight announced her retirement from all forms of cricket. It seems injuries have finally taken their toll and she has decided to instead concentrate on other areas of her life. She refused to respond when asked whether she felt pressured into making the decision by her captain.

That's all folks.

On hearing of the news of Portentous' retirement Allies captain Dipper stated that '..her wit, sparkling humour, charisma & stunning good looks would be difficult to replace but we have a bag of rubbish that's been sitting out the back of the social club for a few weeks that I reckon is more than up to the task & if Rave asks we'd be more than happy to facilitate a transfer accross the city.'

On hearing of DIPPER'S offer to send a bag of rubbish down to KCC as a replacement for the departing portentous Rave said he was 'eager to arrange the pickup of the rubbish and this exciting new phase of KCC was about to take place'. He felt the rubbish could more than handle Portentous' duties and was hoping that the rubbish would not become bigger than the team.

Disappointing effort from Port, KCC have a spot available on their list for any potential new batters.

This is sad to see - maybe the meteoric climb of the Mariners last season took it out of the stunning mid-season arrival (stunning = 200 on debut you sexist ********ers). When she left the Mariners I could see that she had become hooked on an insatiable desire for the rollercoaster to keep on rolling.

When she cut from some of the relationships here at the Mariners, well it soon became apparent that out on her own she was vulnerable to the preyaing hands of those who just wanted runs and sex, with no consideration for the delicate character of a master craftswoman.

Portentous, the Fremantle Mariners (and I hope I am not speaking out of line) salute your talent and lament your departure from the game.

I hope you will accept an offer of being guest of honour at our next home test for a lap of honour in a fancy sports convertible, so the fans can give you the send off you deserve.

Couldn't have said it better, Was a shame to see you leave the club this year and you are always welcome back :thumbsu:

Plus after the fans have given you the send off you deserve some of the boys want to :D

If possible I would like to focus more on my batting, at **********.com and essendonfc.com.au, I have chosen to work harder with the bat and given the ball up and they have payed great dividends, if possible I would love to knock up some runs for the KCC and increase my chances of making the test side, as the current spot for allrounder is taken by a champion I dont see me as much of a chance. So i guess this is a matter of teams like people putting their hand up to help the side and I feel this is my chance and way to put my hand up to take KCC onto big things. Gatsid's hand has officially been put up.

So anyone can "retire" momentarily and then change teams?

Her reasoning is not that she wasn't getting a fair go, but that she's injury prone (could be why her stats were so low) and that she's leaving to concentrate on the kids or something.

She can't be picked up as she's retired from all forms of cricket.

The way I see it is:

*Clears throat*

Porty stole Cattys man and now Cat wants Port to suffer.

All I can say is:

Porty? If you got it? flaunt it
