So far this year we have:

1. finally won a game
2. won 2 in a row
3. won 3 in a row
4. beaten a reasonable side
5. come from behind to win
6. actually put a side away and buried them a bit
7. won with the odd key player out

now

1. a big crowd at the "G"
2. we aren't the underdogs we are expected to win
3. tipsters and TAB have us firm favourites
4. its Caaarrrrrton with our recent record against them
5. last 2 "big" games we got flogged albeit better opposition
6. no excuses if we get done

We all confident?....gotta say I am. I can't see the Blues winning this one. Famous last words though but it feels like it did in the late 70s and 80s a bit with the anticipation and excitement against this mob. This for me will tell me if we are really on the improve as its a huge hurdle mentally for all who run out.

I agree that this game more than any other will show where we are at.This is exactly the type of game we would normally drop after last week.The media beating up that the saints game would be an indication was unrealistic.

Goes without saying for me IDGAF. I been supporting my beloved Tiges way too bloody long now to get vicious over one game. I have had to wade through taken more ********** over the past 30 years than a Werribee duck but I'm still here!

Guess I am just actually confident for once and it scares me!

Very good point IDGAF.Anyone who has played footy,or any sport for that matter think about young teams you have been a part of or played against.If you give kids a sniff they become cocky pricks,grow a foot taller and are nigh on unstoppable.On the other hand if you put them under the pump and it doesn't quite go their way it can be catastrophic.They also gain huge momentum either way.We will have some losses that leave you scratching your head,but some unbelievable excitement like last week.Looking forward to the ride,and have promised myself not to get narky when we have a shocker.

Take your point NBrown but I would like to think posting it here was doing so among friends and a far cry from the bravado bullsh$t I read on the main AFL page. Its the statements like .."Tiges by 10 goals", "we gonna wipe the floor with em" that I think are misplaced.

Besides following TW's lead its time we showed a little confidence in our blokes and shouldnt be embarassed to do so as they have earnt that so far. Thats confidence not arrogance and stupidity mind you!

Good points, which I think is why Wallace has continued with experienced players like Graham and at the same time rotated the kids rather than throwing the kids all in at once. When you look at our side, although our list overall is inexperienced, the sides we have been putting out each week have a mixture of new kids and quite a lot of experienced players. All the same, we are going to have some disappointing losses and some unexpected wins throughout the season.
