It took 30 years for a VFL footballer to kick 100 (Gordon Coventry 1929)
Since then the longest time between century goalkickers was 15 years, between 1952-1968, John Coleman the former & Peter Hudson later.

Fraser Gehrig being the last AFL to reach a ton in 2004. Who will be next?

From Full Points Footy- Recent North Melbourne tonners-

Doug Wade kicked 103 in 1974, being North Melbournes first centurian.

Malcolm Blight 1982-103 goals, winning the Coleman Medal. Blight also kicked 126 goals in season 1985 for Woodville SA.
member of North Melbourne premiership sides in 1975 and 1977
member of North's 1980 night premiership team
1978 Brownlow Medallist
4 times club leading goalkicker

I was going to say Scott Welsh, but accidentally clicked on Franklin.:p

As much as I hate to say it, I think Brendon Fevola is gonna be the next 100 goal-kicker because of the great supply from Judd, Murphy, Walker, Gibbs & Stevens...

I Voted Fraser Gehrig..

You have Edwards but no Riewoldt?

Aaron Edwards has already kicked 100 in the VFL apparently. Like to see him do the same with North, with Thompson back in 2008 will be a tall order.
Riewoldt's a great footballer, will probably kick 100 points before goals- i joke :)

Jonathan Brown will do it soon.
After that Lance Franklin might do it

It will most likley come out of Brown, Lloyd, Fev and Franklin.

I reckon Franklin and Fev are a massive chance to do it next season.

Well, the Blues have the best FF in the AFL and the best midfielder in the AFL, so I guess Fev has a chance. Even when Fev has an average year, he kicks 60 goals or so. Just an extreme talent. Franklin's the next best chance, but there are a few question marks being raised about the Hawks, getting old, one-paced, one-dimensional midfield setup, plus the Franklin-only forward-line. Hawks 2008 is looking like a Freo 2007 top-up-the-flag disaster revisited BTW. :)

That didn't seem to stop them beating Carlton by 100 points when Franklin was a late withdrawal...

Me & some of my fellow Essendon supporters would disagree with that....Lloyd averaged more goals then Fevola even with an injury interrupted season....The only reason why I said Fev is gonna be the next 100 goalkicker is because he'll get great supply with Judd, Stevens, Murphy, Gibbs & Walker feeding it down his throat....

No fair, a trained monkey could kick 5 on Mal Michael!

lol. Bit harsh. The Dons seem obsessed with recruiting these 30-yo top-up players past their best. Fletcher got a solid caning that day as well BTW. When Fev is up and running, he's unstoppable. In 2008 he'll have Judd and Stevens firing passes to him, plus Gibbs moving into the midfield at last, joining Walker, Murph, Simmo, Carrazzo, Scotland, etc etc. Going to be good. :)

North Melbourne 100 plus Goalkickers in a season.

V/AFL 100+ Goalkickers: D.Wade (103)1974 - M.Blight(103)1982

Like to see a post from each club. Feel free to delve in the pre-AFL history.

Fitzroy-
V/AFL 100+ Goalkickers:B.Quinlan (116)1983 & (105)1984

I voted Brown but any one of Fevola, Lloyd and Franklin could do it. Though, with the way the game is played today I doubt anyone will do it any time soon.

Which would you rather?

A) Judd, Stevens, Murphy, Gibbs, Walker, Hadley, ect supplying to Fevola

OR

B) Black, Power, Lappin, Johnstone, Adcock, Notting, ect Supplying to Brown?

I'd chose the latter!:thumbsu::cool:

Fevola will be played at FF for most of the year, if not all.....Jonathan Brown on the other hand will play three quarters of his time at CHF 'cause Bradshaw will more than likely fill that FF spot....So yep, I'd still back Fevola to kick more goals than Jono Brown next season....

Best option is Franklin.
He kicked 73 goals even though he kicked the most behind in the comp, i think it was 56/57. If he can fix the radar he will kick 100 goals next year
