Just got my hands on this game. Damn ... the gameplay is totally awesome! I'm a mean bastard on the ice thought ... checks and fights galore :D Just learnt 'how to' fight ... i wondered why i was losing and ending up on my arse!

Extremely enjoyable game with the gameplay being its greatest asset. :) You don't even have to be an ice hockey supporter to enjoy this game.

well done on a great purchase:D

something you should do right away is go to Cyber NhL, its a great site which has extras to include into the game like stadium updates which update the boards and on ice advertising and better team uniforms and goalie updates also.
oh,youll need to get the gfzpak also which is needed to add all these updates.
sounds like a lot,but its well worth it:D :D :D

sweet sweet game. I havent played it for 3 weeks as i been concentrating on CM...but this game is the greatest sports game ive ever played.
The gameplay is ok...its nothing like real hockey tho...i use 10 minute periods...and i end up with a check count in the 70s-80s usually which is unrealistic.
The whole game is fantastic tho....not a poor point in the game. The momentum bar is great and its awesome to actually earn a goal in this game (something thats been missing in past versions of the game)....usually after about 4 games you can win 4-0 each game....yet this game is a lot harder.

Its perfect that you can choose exactly how hard the gameplay is with the sliders......the transfer/trade system is very very good as well.

Im yet to find a fault in the game!

Must say i love the NHL Cards idea as well.

Just tried playing over the internet with EA Matchup but it stuffed up somewhere along the line. The guy who i was going to play was in Canada ... and he said there was something blocking my access to the US EA server. Maybe just a distance thing ... i dunno. Will have to try again.

Should play a internet game one day Macca ... i'll whip your arse!!! :D

You're "yet to find a fault in the game" yet it's "nothing like real hockey" and you "win 4-0 each game" ?

Well, there's 2 pretty big faults.

no....you used to be able to win 4-0 in PAST versions of this game...but theyve fixed that problem this year, as the goalies seem to be able to "work out" your favourite moves.

its just a bit too physical than real hockey - nothing major

i started playing on difficult a few weeks ago, medium was just to easy and i was starting to beat teams 6-3 or 5-1 in 10 minute periods
lemieux for me started off very slowly,no goals in the first 8 games and then 3 hat-tricks in a row to quickly climb the scoring leaders.
and i also had 3 players leading the hits in the league,so that was unrealistic, especially for a team like the penguins
in difficult its proving a lot harder,i lost by a goal to the avs in the first game and then got thrashed 6-0 by the ducks
but racked up a win in the 3rd game against the islanders,so im a bit all over the place at the moment:p :p  :)

i started a season on difficult after playing just two games on medium and found it fairly hard. My first 20 games i only won 7 or 8 of them, and struggled in the others. Then i won my next 15 games!! I got to about game 60 when my computer died so i lost my damn season.

I started a new season ive played 17 games and have a 13-3-1 w-l-t record. Ive got 2 games in hand and am 4 points in front in my conference. Ive scored 86 goals for and 54 against.
I created myself in teh game (Mckay) and he has 19 goals and 16 assists in the 17 games (leading in goals and coming 3rd in points)...Deadmarsh and Stefan have both scored 11 goals for me. The hits thing is unrealistic and it shows as 8 of the top 10 hits are from my team.

So im doing alright at the moment

it would be great if they had in some of the past teams like they do in madden and other games like that
it would be great and having all the old uniforms and the players without the helmets like they used to:)
