Anyone know much about Nicholas Smith - not the great 426 - but a player for Oakleigh, Scotch and Vic Metro. Id say a 50-50 to get drafted this year. I think we should take him just to utterly confuse everyone by having two players of the same name, we could nickname him 427. If he does get drafted by another team, Melbourne could have a large group of players with same names of others Eg Chris Johnson and Nathan Brown

Was thinking about the Yze Class but we seem to have a history of keeping players one year extra eg Luke Williams, Steven Armstrong, Cam Hunter even Carroll got a year more than I thought he deserved but his improvement has showen why I dont run the club, all seemed to stick around a for a while, and being a KPP and adding the fact that Bizzel, Nicho, Browny may all retire I give him a chance of staying

426 has had that year and another mate.

Wow, I reckon thats a bit harsh, hes had 4 years - minus 1 for injury and minus the extra year and I reckon hes a chance. What has Daniel Bell done the 426 hasn't.

I think full back and chf are the 2 positions we are lacking in so we should always keep an extra player on our list who could potentially play both one day, ie carrol, for me its smith, and warnock on the rookie list. On the other hand with this years draft we might be wise to cut some losses for the talented kids.

Now does anyone actually no anything about the topic or will Yze Class and i discuss Melbourne list management some more

Smiths had 4 years for 3 games.

Bells had 3 years i believe (recruited in 2003 draft) and played more than 3 games and more importantly, is in the team at the moment.

Yeah I've seen Nick Smith play for Scotch and is a very good player. Has a bit of leg speed which i think we will be looking for in this draft.

Nah both from same draft - one pick apart (2002, see below), and Belly is just in team atm and Smith just out of team.

From afl.com.au

His speed (2.92sec for 20 metres) and agility (8.31sec) were in the top bracket at the National AFL Draft camp at the AIS in October. Made his senior debut with Glenelg in Round 22 this year.

Round 1 15 Melbourne NICHOLAS SMITH NORWOOD 27/08/1984 195.8cm 92kg

Now back on the topic
