Did anyone seriously think the media (you know the thing that controls the AFL and therefore the other 17 clubs) was EVER going to let US and Nick Daicos have a gentle lead up year into the 2021 draft? That focus will skew their perceptions of other players. As when you go to a game with a list of names to watch you focus in on them and then miss things from other players

Firstly it's not about the result it's about the intention.

Secondly if they bring his rating up from 3 to 1 they are sticking it to the Pies.

That might be the case for lower rated players - but not guys at the extremely pointy end. It's pretty clear that recruiters are going to be at his games as it's TAC. He starred in the first game of the year. Thus he's going to be on radars regardless of the press - the fact that he's a father son that we seem certain to take may actually may actually result in them watching him a bit less closely than if he wasn't.
