So not Pendles hah?

Who built the app? I assume Telstra because it is the greatest hunk of sh*t I’ve ever had on my phone. I can’t even get into the game let alone the stream.
Nope, certainly not a clone, but his vision and creativity finding the right option is very Pendles-like so the most similar player I could come up with.

Still early in the game but he seems to be running just as hard in defense as attack. It's almost shocking how often he's in the camera shot, got a much better ability to get to the right position than Josh.

He's going straight to the guts next year, not gonna be "biding his time" at half forward. Another centre clearance.
Him and Macrae will be epic. Pendles as the old guard, Adams as the halfway point and then some other youth (Reef, Josh Daicos, maybe Rantall and Poulter). Not too bad

Not the best thread for a ninja edit, but that sounds more like Albert Jnr or even perhaps Robbie Grey.

Daics could get 3 votes in every NAB League game he plays this season. He's so good.

Already better then some players in our AFL Side

Yeah Robbie Gray is probably a pretty good one actually. I watch every pies game on TV but never get a chance to watch any other games so less familiar with oppo players. Doesn't have the trademark hunched-over style of Jnr (and Josh, who I do see similarities with Jnr apart from ability to find the pill), very upright like Pendles, keeps the arms free when tackled (rarely, during this half of footy at least...) and dishes off.

Edit: the Pendles comparison also covers the role that he's playing - attending centre bounces, strong evasion (although a different style as noted), getting clearances and setting up his teammates with excellent ball use. Not sure if he's got any leadership traits but he seems to be "the guy" owning the midfield like Pendles did circa 2010-2015 (obviously a very different standard of footy that Daics is competing against at the moment).

But Hine and co may have felt that it was a great bet because there were kids they rated so highly in the 2020 draft that it was an opportunity to pick up.

It’s all personal opinion. You say it was a huge risk, but on their research and work they put into draftees, they felt it was a a great bet.

No right or wrong. They have the advantage of having done more work on drafts than any of us, and they have a strategy which we are unaware of, and this may be part of that.
In that article from a journalist who sat in with us during the draft, after the Poulter pick, it said that we switched to needs, so you can be pretty confident that we didn’t rate McMahon particularly highly. With Poulter, we traded that pick down twice, if we rated him enormously, I don't think we would have done that. It seems most likely that we thought he was one of a few left who were good value.

When it comes to rating a slider really highly, I'd question the philosophy of not factoring in other club's views and still paying a high price for him, particularly with someone as exposed as Poulter was.

There's a lot of luck involved in recruiting and hopefully we get lucky. If either of them become good players, it will be a win, but I still think we got poor value and sold a recruiting asset really cheaply.

With some worthless mole leaking to the jackals - erm media - waaay out from the trade period we were sitting ducks.

Never had a shot at getting value.
