Will Nick Daicos be the best player to come out of the TAC, now NAB league, of recent times? Haven't seen Ugle-Hagan as yet in senior AFL footy, but I'm sure he is going to be a star. Rowell is a good player, but he is more your in and under mid, with great ball getting ability. Petracca is a star now, and is now showing his true worth, so he is probably the best to come out of the u/18 comp in more recent times.
To me Daicos, has the all round game. The ability to win the ball, be a regular goal kicker, can transition easily from mid to forward, beautiful skills on both sides of the body, and all the tricks in the book. If he was drafted by any one of the 18 clubs, he would play straight away, and make an impact. What a talent to have coming to our club...

He is on the bench atm. You literally have to force to get him off the ground [emoji23]

His dad, the Macedonian Marvel, did say he just loves his footy. So no surprise he wants to play every second of a match. He would be a brilliant trainer on the track as well, continually working on his game.

Ball use by foot dropped away a bit in the last quarter on the left peg, legs might be getting heavy he's been everywhere. Could have had three more goals in the last quarter or so but a shank after two bounces in the third quarter and two close misses running through fifty in the last. Still racking up pill for fun.

More of a ‘I fit in at this level’ second half than a stand out. Missed a few long goals and a few less accurate disposals. Still building his tank though.

Not the best thread for a ninja edit, but that sounds more like Albert Jnr or even perhaps Robbie Grey.
Just sounds like his old man, space time and balance, with quickness of mind.
Pity we have to wait a year

In that article from a journalist who sat in with us during the draft, after the Poulter pick, it said that we switched to needs, so you can be pretty confident that we didn’t rate McMahon particularly highly. With Poulter, we traded that pick down twice, if we rated him enormously, I don't think we would have done that. It seems most likely that we thought he was one of a few left who were good value.

When it comes to rating a slider really highly, I'd question the philosophy of not factoring in other club's views and still paying a high price for him, particularly with someone as exposed as Poulter was.

There's a lot of luck involved in recruiting and hopefully we get lucky. If either of them become good players, it will be a win, but I still think we got poor value and sold a recruiting asset really cheaply.
I think one of those picks was used to bid on Coleman who Brisbane matched.
Anyway, you sound like you are far better qualified than the Collingwood Football Club to make trading decisions for the club.

Have you sent them your CV?

Funny how forgiving we are about Nick ducking, but Selwood and the complicit umpires are the anti Christ when he does it.

No hypocrisy there.

Everyone acknowledges selwood was smart and very skilled at it, the argument from me is that if the player being tackled ducks or in his case accentuates that contact by lifting his arm up forcing the opponents hand to raise it should be play on.

The ownus is on the umpire not the player to make the right call, you can tell when someone does it and when a player is just sloppy tackling and a genuine high free should be paid.

You seem to have an opinion on it too. Have you sent them your cv?

Pretty interesting discussion board if we just go, we'll the club did it, their the experts, they must be right.

Also a pretty interesting off season for a group of unquestionable experts.

Nah, Horne has him covered but not by much.

Hopefully they play against each other in champs, admittedly only seen some highlights of Horne and in that thought his kicking was OK but not great like most talked up pick 1s are?
But again could of just been those particular highlights so not going to be definitive on it.

Home from the game.

Nick had an alright game. Not as clean and polished as the last few weeks. Rushed kicks and disposal in the 2nd half, but still head and shoulders too good for this level.

Was chatting to a guy from AFL Draft Central who was there covering the game.

Nick probably should have had about 5 goals, but missed some easy shots. The one off the ground like soccer, that would have been a nice goal but went the other way. Then a couple further out. If he had a bit more composure to slot them properly. He should take some notes from Josh lol

But one thing for sure. He knows how to find the ball and out of a pack, stoppage or in the middle. Would have had about 30 I assume, seemed to have his fair share.

Makes you laugh doesn't it, some people seem to think its a cheerleader forum.

He's very unselfish for a player of his skill and reputation, imo. Given he knows he's the alpha in the side, he could be forgiven for trying to do too much but he was constantly giving the ball off to teammates in better spots.

I noticed that. Trying to do the team thing.

fck that Nick, just get it yourself. Nab League is a time to be selfish. Its all about youself. Unselfish will come when you get drafted and it gets coached out of you lol
