That won't be allowed to happen now - he will be double teamed, scragged, sniped and anything else the wonderful modern game allows.
Those expecting him to be the instant messiah are very likely to be disappointed.

Academy team getting flogged around the pill - Horne, Rachele, Johnson and Sonsie. Daics played the whole quarter forward and the ball hardly went there. Got a free 45 out near the boundary, kick fell short by a few metres.

It was a point in time when he was almost there but not quite to about a dozen contest in a row.

Yes he has had 7 and hit a couple of inside 50 targets which is all good, but I have seen a lot of good inside work. Just seems to be a bystander.

I understand what you mean in that he is an outside receiver almost purely atm, looks like we will need someone to feed him at center bounces.

Is good at finding it in transition by the looks kinda pendles in style more then a burst mid like Buckley was or as good at the contested stuff as Bucks but to be fair neither was Buckley early days he added that later.

Is clean and smart user mostly, think he had a few nothing 5m kicks in the first q under pressure.

He has been ignored for the handball recieve and a few leads in space a lot so we need to take in account this AA team is not gelling that well (seems to be distinct waxing between grps Horne ignored ND a few times in space only to butcher the kick) and that Geelong opponents are very well drilled and physically developed in comparison.

Positives.
Gets across the ground well.
Positions himself as an option often. At AFL level will get used more where as being ignored alot by fellow aa teammates looking to shine.
Generally clean by foot.
Directing traffic and vocal.
Reliable possession winner in general play.
Looks like he will be a good mid in style of Kelly (gws) or Pendles.

Some areas i saw of concern for me others may disagree;
Is very outside and I'm mean very wants to be the receiver 100% of the time.
Doesn't look to like contact.
As a compare Josh Daics much more willing in the contest even as a jnr imo when others considered him outside.
Doesn't seem to be able to make himself space in traffic like Josh has shown he can with backwardsand sidewards weaves.
Shot on goal struggled to make distance from about 42m (fatigue?).
Not sure of ability to burst from traffic is there.
Gives opponent (narkle q1) a lot of rope.
So far hasn't shown an xfactor quality that J.Daicos has at times displayed.

I think Nick would be fine on a wing and suit his style of play early days.

Horne hasn't overly impressed me that much relative to how he has been pumped up as pick 1 and is a bit of a butcher by foot. Think his franticness makes him stand out does look more willing to physically get involved then ND.

I hate that comment because there is nothing stopping players who kick well from having a rounded game, where they both hunt first possession (which usually requires you to win a contest), go and contest when needed and not spectate allowing oppo mids to win it. And then also know when to be there to recieve on the outside.

N.Buckley, D.Martin, P.Dangerfield etc they all have balanced games both inside and outside. Yes yes all champions but we are talking about a potential pick one here.

People only use that excuse and really its a crap one when a players has an obvious weakness and instead of addressing it give them an 'out'.

Didak was a great player but he could of been even better had he liked the physical side like say Toby Green.

We have enough players in the team who don't put their head over it so I hope its on the development coaches list of need to improve/address.

Once Nick gets Bigger and Stronger he play more Inside and also plays more Inside for the Chargers
