There are some that are keen to have O'Keefe on the Essendon list... would anyone prefer a much cheaper alternative in the same age bracket that would play a similar role? A genuine small forward that is a dead-eye dick for goal.

Lovett & 3rd round for Davis & 2nd round. If Sydney get a 1st round pick for O'Keefe they would be more likely to part with their 2nd round.

Your thoughts?

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo way!!!!!!!!

My thoughts are that he will be 29 early next year, is known to some as a tool and some people have suggested that he can be lazy at times. Seems to lack focus as well.

Having said that I don't know if reports of him are accurate but he doesn't really interest me, and I don't think he is worth as much as you have implied by that hypothetical trade.

They'd just about give us a pick to get him off their list.
Verging on 30 I think, would be onto his 3rd club, just 3 games in 2008: dare I say... "list clogger"

Going on 29 (I think) and you would think his best football is now behind him.
As already mentioned he seems lazy and is one dimensional, has really only played HF his whole career. Has to be question mark over his fitness.

I doubt Knights has him on his radar.

Has Davis even been mentioned the last couple of days? Have heard and read nothing.

NICK Davis' manager hopes the forgotten Sydney Swans forward has not played his last game of AFL football – and thinks he could even take the field again in the red and white.

Lance Thompson says Davis, one of the heroes of the Swans' 2005 premiership, still has a lot to offer any club and was waiting anxiously to discover what his future held.

As AFL trade week continued on Tuesday afternoon, Thompson was expecting an update about Davis from Swans football manager Andrew Ireland.

Davis played just three senior matches in 2008 and had his year cut short when he dislocated a knee in July during a Swans reserves match.

However despite many believing Davis' career in Sydney was over, Thompson believed Swans coach Paul Roos might need him, especially with star forward Ryan O'Keefe seemingly Melbourne-bound.

"If the Swans lose O'Keefe, which I think might happen, you know Nick's obviously going to come back into calculations," Thompson told afl.com.au.

Asked if Davis had given up hope of being in a Sydney Swans jumper next year, Thompson said: "They haven't shut the door on that at all.

"You know I'm looking forward to talking to Andrew [Ireland] later on."

Davis is out of contract, and if Roos decides his time is up the Swans will try to make a trade this week.

Thompson said he thought some clubs had raised the enigmatic forward's name on the opening day of trade talks, and he was eager to learn more following discussions with the Swans' footy manager.

"Obviously we'll just weigh up all our options and just see what pops up," he said.

"I'm sure there's a club there that's thinking about Nick … if things in the trade don't go the way they're supposed to or something happens and they miss a player or something I suppose people come into calculations."

Personally, I'd be surprised if I saw him play AFL next year. May get a look in with ROK going

HE was the reason they were able to win the Premiership in 2005.....I'm sure when they weigh it all up, regardless of his form now, he was worth the money.

And no, I don't want to see him at Essendon.
