He's either a really quick thinker or smart enough to prepare for questions related to the club (ie media exposure, player behaviour, his own ability), or both. Any of those scenarios puts him in a positive light, can't really fault this at all, though i did slightly agree with caro (which makes me cringe) that he seems to be focusing on aggressive displays rather than the game (the run on that caused the goal the other week with ablett and varcoe occurred partly cos nick was distracted by a push & shove with max rooke, at least thats what it looked like at the game). My opinion of him as captain, which was really positive early on, had wained a little, but it's on the improve

Yeah, our Nick was an inspired choice as captain and i hope all those who said Nick was the worst choice as captain are enjoying their humble pie!

When all you knockers out there put your head over the footy, get the hard ball and lead by example on the field for the Black & White then your opinions will matter to me...and the magnificent Nick Maxwell!

He is clearly well prepared, honest and tough on and off the field. I can not think of a better leader for us over the next (hopfully) exciting, successful 5 years

Unless Maxwell gets a season ending injury or dies in a tackle he will be the Captain at the very least until the end of this season.

At this time we will all be able to judge his first year as the on-field leader of the club.

It is very hard to mark him this early on-field having been suspended/suspended/unsuspended in the McGinnity case and having captained three games before another suspension, for I might add **** all.

Off-field he is excelling. During the long running McGinnity saga, on Footy Classified at a particularly sensitive time what with all the "Collingwoodcentric" speculation, drama's and controversies in the media at the moment and in his general dealings with the players, the fans and the media he is proving to be self assured, confident, intelligent, articulate, honest and mature.

I like him more every time he speaks publicly about our club and his role there.

So far a great choice by the Club.
