He has a reckless abandon, and desperation for the footy that'll likely shorten his career and extend his infamy. The way he throws himself under every single incoming pill, despite whoever is bearing down on him, and his complete disregard for his own well being when it comes to winning the contested ball is admirable and is indicative of a classic 'lead by example' captain.

Love you Nick, you do the number 5 proud :thumbsu:

Nick has a habit of turning games around, especially against Adelaide.

During the final in Adelaide a few years ago, he kicked a vital goal just before half time to turn the tide of the match, and we went on and won.

And last year, again in Adelaide, he punched the ball on half back and got the ball forward to Dawes, who sealed the game.

And on Saturday night, he made a point to lift his intensity after half time, and led the team back from the wilderness.

Once again, showing he is/was the correct selection as Captain of our great club.:D:thumbsu:

He took a fantastic mark last night. Hasn't had his best season, but when you need someone to stand up, he will be there. I thought, for the most part of the game, him, Nate Brown and Wellingham were the only ones to make a real go of it last night. Some players played well (like Daisy and Pendles) but seemed to lack the intensity and touch that they usually have. Nick was great last night, and proved why he is captain.

Don't forget Matty last years semi it was Maxwell who kicked inside 50 in the final seconds so Jack could get the free. :D

Zahki, you jogged my memory. I remeber saying to my brothers, it was Maxwell, it was Maxwell. I think he even fisted it forward at a crucial point in that game, but could be wrong, i tend to make things up

On the topic of turning things around when the chips are down, how good was Blair in the last quarter? Just some crucial touches in and around the contests, appears to never lose a contest in the clinches - just a real hardnut.

I thought he was a bit quiet for 3 quarters, but his last quarter was quality stuff.
