Yep hopefully not true. If it is I'm sure it will be managed cautiously. better to get him back in time than rush him back & f* his season.
I wonder if this will have an impact on the captain decision.
I'm hoping like hell this doesn't have further adverse affect on Nick's goal kicking ability.

maybe his source of information was this thread & he elaborated & ran with it for the fear campaign
wouldn't suprise me.. radar is a muppet, he has no idea what he is on about..
first he thinks because he commentated a "beach cricket" game he has the right to say that Richie benaud should retire as he's not as good as he use to be and is "destroying" the game and his rep.. what rubbish.. richie should stay on as long as he can talk, he IS cricket... radar is a nobody..
then he has a go about the grand prix and how its a huge waste of money and costs victorians money and that the aussie guys organising it get money in their pocket.. Fair enough if he doesn't like the grand prix, i dont like it, but the guy has no idea about how it works and how much exposure it brings to melbourne and the money is brings in too... But the way he had a go at this guy on the radio the other day astounded me and showed how dumb radar actually is.. didn't listen to any answers and refused to believe anything this guy said... why ask a question and then not listen to the answer.. i think he just likes the sound of his own voice..
I use to like this bloke, now i just think he is getting a little too big for his boots and thinks he is better than what he really is.. stick to second rate game day calling radar you muppet...
ok, rant done..
It better not be like Pluggers one week back injury and then he missed the first half of the year or when Hamill hurt his knee against Geelong and was named to play the next couple of weeks but never really played again. I dont mean to be a pessimistic St.Kilda supporter.

When I saw this report, I also immediately thought of Hamill and the non-disclosure around his injury. The transparency issue did raise its head with the changes to the squad for the Richmond game, but I'm hoping this is not an ongoing issue.

Radar doesnt have a lot of credibility anyway, but you never know clubs do like to play ducks and drakes even at this time of the year

yeah i was listening to ross lyon's interveiw after the game and they asked him if it was more serious that hes saying and he said that riewoldt is at 98 per cent, and its more like an issue of having him that little bit better. he said he could of played him but decided to make sure the injury doesnt come back. i think its just an over use injury (tendonitis) so if hes been managed well since christmas like they said, he should be nearly good to go. and hes had heaps of scans aswel so its obviously people talking shit to get noticed. ie that rader bloke.

WHILE football's rumours mill dictates that Nick Riewoldt is either undergoing knee reconstruction or missing the first eight weeks of the season, St Kilda insists the case is nothing so drastic.
The club says Riewoldt has tendonitis of the knee and nothing more. It says that while he will not play this week, he should play the weekend after.
There is some suggestion that he has a minor strain of his anterior cruciate ligament but this is significantly different to a tear of the ligament and can be managed.
He is able to train fully and pain only appears when he attempts long kicks. The pain is not expected to unduly affect his season.
News on Raf:
A different scare went through Moorabbin on Friday night when youngster Raphael Clarke collapsed after the win over Richmond.
He was taken to Epworth Hospital for precautionary scans which cleared him of serious damage and while he will not play this week he has been cleared to play afterwards.
It seemed that Clarke, who has been plagued by injury in his short career, suffered dehydration in the heat before suffering a knock to his ribs.
His manager Ricky Nixon said the combined effects of the dehydration and the knock were felt to have caused the collapse.
"I have spoken to him and it does not seem to be something that is an ongoing concern. The doctors felt it was just a bit of dehydration," Nixon said.

On this, who the #@!% is working with Rooey, X, Fiona, Kosi (and even Goose) on goalkicking??? Some of the shots at goal in the Nab Cup indicate no work has been done. Fair enough if you miss from time to time, but there's no positive change in their kicking styles (aside from X to a degree - he's done something).
We've had one of the best goalkickers of all time at the club and yet none of these guys seem to be taking any tips? The "head over the ball" "slow smooth approach" "guide the ball onto the boot" isn't anywhere to be seen.
If Stewie Loewe can do it, it bloody good enough for any of these guys.

Security turned away our photographer at the gate at the start of the Saints' 2pm session, but club staff filmed Riewoldt.
The footage shows Riewoldt running at full tilt, twice charging into tackle bags and several times marking on a lead.
It appeared on St Kilda's website late yesterday, with the enthusiastic blessing of Riewoldt himself.
St Kilda football manager Matthew Drain confirmed last night Riewoldt would miss tomorrow's NAB Cup clash with Geelong in Canberra, but resume the week after.
"He did the full session today," Drain said.
"There was only a few minutes on the website, but he's part of the group doing what he needs to do.
"If he had an ACL, he wouldn't be doing that."
Asked if Riewoldt would play tomorrow if it was the home-and-away season, Drain said: "No doubt."
Rumours about Riewoldt's right knee started a fortnight ago, with innuendo suggesting a scan had shown a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament.
There had been talk Riewoldt had severely jarred the knee and narrowly avoided a season-ending reconstruction.
Speculation followed that he was facing a similar dilemma to Bulldog Daniel Giansiracusa, who can play on after a partial tear of the ACL - but only after about 10 weeks of rest.
Riewoldt was a late withdrawal from the Saints' first intra-club hitout, with what the club termed both a virus and a corked thigh.
He had been set to play in St Kilda's opening NAB Cup clash against Richmond, but pulled out.
The Saints said Riewoldt was suffering from knee tendinitis.
But the footage from Moorabbin yesterday provided definitive proof that the man favoured to win the captaincy this year is not being hobbled by injury.
Despite the latest batch of rumours, St Kilda is sticking by its decision to have blanket closed sessions during the summer.
Coach Ross Lyon sees it as an invaluable way of tinkering with game style away from prying eyes.
If St Kilda fans were allowed in yesterday, they would have been pleased on several fronts.
Lenny Hayes, Adam Schneider and Luke Ball are a strong chance of joining Riewoldt in the Saints team next week.
Brendon Goddard, returning from a knee reconstruction, could also be back. If not, he will make a long-awaited comeback the week after.
Matt Maguire, struck down by a foot stress fracture, is further behind. Maguire is unlikely to play before Round 1, and that will be for VFL affiliate Casey Scorpions.
Those hoping for Steven King to front up against his old side Geelong tomorrow will be disappointed. He was left out, with Drain saying he was simply rested.

nick can't play with two good knees, so what does it matter if one is busted. De-list him! It would allow more room in the salary cap and more ego room for the rest of the players in the changerooms..
