Just wondering how Dal owners are feeling after the last 4 weeks? Apart from his mammoth 152 his scores have been less than convincing. To recap:

v Port (85 dt, 99 sc)
Apparently junked it up after Kornes came off him late so his score may be a little inflated here. 19 touches, 6 tackles.

v WB (81 dt, 97 sc)
Tagged by Boyd. 22 touches, 1 goal.

v Coll (121 dt, 152 sc)
Head to head with Daisy - 38 touches, 5 marks.

v Ess (73 dt, 72 sc)
Tagged by Hocking effectively. Still had 23 touches though.

So that works out to be 4 games, ave dt 90, sc 105. Still very respectable in anyone's book but did Dal start showing signs of being susceptible to a tag again?

I'm thinking he's a good target in weeks to come say when his 72 pays off but it could be a tactical move to steer clear and hope he crashes and burns and grab say a Goodes, Black, etc instead. Seeing everyone has him it may be a good move.

Curious to hear everyone's thoughts.

The thing is that you know for a fact that Goodes and Black can break tags. They have proven this over many seasons. Especially Goodes is good for this as he is not only mobile but is very tall....so he is near impossible to tag as he just wonders down to the forward line where he can outmark taggers.

Dal has improved immensley this season.....and this has a lot to do with StKilda's success. Bit like Geelong, it's all downhill skiing when the team is travelling that well. Great for SC scoring. Like you stated I am not sold on his ability to break a tag. His upside in scoring is massive, but when he does get tagged out he will hurt you with a 70-odd. Goddard playing more of a forward role also brings a bit more attention to Dal.

I don't plan on bringing him in this year as the questionmark regarding his ability to break tags is unfortunately still there. Mind you, you have a look at the next 5 games for StKilda........not much tagging is going to get done by these teams and Dal will run riot.

I reckon if you don't have him now, don't bother....

Had him from the start and am very happy. Hocking tagged him well last week, but he has been doing that all year. Deledio's score might be not so good this week :(

Hayes keeps stealing his points. 120+ avg on <70% gametime

Excellent, a StKilda supporter I can bug. What has happened to Ball this year? Is it simply that Hayes and Dal has been so dominant that the opportunity is taken away from Ball? Or is it a role change?

Cheers

Have had NDS from the very start and I intend to keep on backing him as that was the reason I payed keeper/premium price to begin with. If people want to bring in a player that has a positive price increase when premium players are plummetting in price, than that is quite frankly there illogical decision.

But hey it does give a smile to my face knowing that everyone who is band-wagoning and picking him up now has missed his 122 average up to here, which I didn't miss out on! :)

He was unbelievably under-rated at the start of the season only like 3-4% of teams had him, now something like 15% (increasing) of teams have him, which kind of amazes me.

I doubt NDS will be a good target upgrade target as I really can't see his price moving a whole lot throughout the season, on the other hand G.Ablett 217 BE here we come!

Tricky question. Do we go for Cooney's low price tag which will drop again in a few weeks or go for the Dal? Also Mitchell, Kirk look okay too.

I think if Dal drops to say $470K then trade in but if $540K+ there could be other suitable alternatives. But Dal playing for Saints is also good...

I'll probably wait for 2-3 weeks to decide on this one.....Cooney's price is so cheap and he didn't play bad last night against Cats (but did have the tag-effect)

In contrast with starting with Dal, when trading IN Dal or any player you have a benefit of hindsight and price adjustment prediction and the fact that you need to use a trade, therefore you really want Dal to be scoring $120K+ rather than $100K+.

You'll be waiting a while if you think NDS price will drop to $470k.

LOL - you're probably right there...Patience is a Virtue...

I'm not actively waiting for him, but since my next 2 weeks of trade have been planned out already (not by choice).....It really depends on Dal's performance.

Ottens/Ziebell to Dal is what I'm considering, but I have issues elsewhere...

Cooney isn't match fit yet had no preseason and only played a couple of games before he had he knee op done.Last night he played on Ablett and Ling who shut him down as he does to most midielders and he didn't have the tank to run like Ablett did. I think Cooney needs another 3 or so games to be back to where he should be then his scores will rise to 100+ again.

His worst score was a mid 70 not high 90s, lets not forget that especially when for most it was a captain score! So long as he continues to average 120+ through his 'good' scores outway his 'crap' score, than I ain't complaining.

a few of the sydney games ive seen this year, goodes has struggled with a tag. been a bit inconsistent but he has the ability to post huge scores

I'm not sure, I had him as a lock for a 100pt average this year. Only 3 things I can put my finger on 1) he's not getting a massive amount of game time (c70%) and 2) he's probably best when we are scrapping rather than winning easily as at present. The other guys are scoring massively taking away his cheapies, he'll never be the finisher.

He could drop down to $500K by round 11 for anyone sniffing around for a potential bargain

I'm not so sure i'm keen anymore. as i posted in the scores thread, i wonder if opposition coaches let him go more in the early rounds because of his 2008 form but now have turned their focus back to locking him down?

Pissed off because i got him 2 weeks ago
and now has given me 2 low scores :(

Me too!

I got suckered into getting this gimp aswell. Should have known better and realised just how much of a spud he was when he got tagged last year.

Waste of trade. :thumbsd:
