I don't know if this has been done already, but I want to give a big thumbs up to Mark Nicoski and John Worsfold for sticking with him. He's had a few shocking games this year, but has improved plenty towards the end of the season, it pretty good to see that all bagging that went his way has stopped and I havn't really seen him be mentioned as a potential trade on these boards. I'll always remember his first goal in the 2005 Grand Final, lets hope he gets even better next year and stays injury free and kicks goals in a few more Grand Finals.

yeah i reckon. started to recapture that 2006 form around the end of the year.

lets hope he can produce a consistent 09.

nah, trade them all and start with a completely new list. then repeat the cycle every season.

PLAY THE KIDS!!!!!

i alwasy had my trust in him just needed to gain some confidence, in 06 was close to AA form imo, lets hope next year him and bones can carve it up on the Hb line

Played well late in the season Recaptured some off his best form.

INCREASED his trade value!

Good on ya Nico :D

you are a knob if you had it your way we would play 22 teenagers and they would get killed and never develop

Certainly improved as he got some confidence into him.

Looked good when he began to show his trademark dash out of the backline late in the season and his kicking should be back to where it once was next season.

Nico's biggest problem has always been his decision making, which probably is related to his confidence. His speed and kicking skills are top notch and when he gets his confidence back in full we may see more of those devastating 60 metre kicks into our forward half, however he still hesitates way too often and gets corraled onto his right foot which always ends up in him rushing into a poor decision.

Would love for him to regain his form of 06 but the real question is how long do you persist with a player when you have Waters, Brown, Spangher, Wilkes, Glass, Mckenzie and Mr fixit Wirra down the backline with a fully fit side?.

He really did improve quite a bit in the second half of the year with some more game time. I would like to see him play a bit more of an attacking roll next year, I'm look forward to it :thumbsu:

I have an idea: how about we actually keep some of our players for next year? Or is that too crazy?

Nicoski winds upon the left every time and never hits a target
Always makes 1 horrible clanger a game.
Thinks he can take people on when he cant.

Davis I think has all Nicoski's good attributes and more - Davis is faster, much tougher, better mark, works harder.

S.Selwood looked good in the last few games and we have a heap of small defenders, if we dont trade him I would almost delist him.

Wow

Another post that proves you don't need a clue to have an opinion

Thought Nicoski was very good today.

Highlight was his past to Lynch early in the 3rd quarter.

Seemed to back himself to run around or away from opponents and looked more decisive when he had the ball.

Nicoski was outstanding yesterday, his run and attack on the ball were the Nicoski of old and he has the ability to kick through the lines.

Was in our best 5 yesterday in my view at the game and anyone who thinks he was not very good yesterday seriously has not a clue about football.

Nope, hasn't been done because until the game yesterday most posters were calling for his head.

He was Ok yesterday, although his awareness didn't look the best. I can't see why it's so hard for him to get back to 2005 form, is it cause we aren't such a dominate side? Is he a frontrunner? Certainly played his best game for the year so far yesterday.

I cant think of two better modern half back flanker types to run through the lines and receive handballs from midfielders and pump the ball into the foward line then Shannon Hurn and Mark Nicoski.

*shakes head and reminds self that while we all support the same side, some people have NFI* .....

Nico was one of our best yesterday. He was taking the game on when it was there to be won, breaking lines and using the ball well. Those who are instructed to take risks and take the game on will, at times, get caught - because the opposition are pretty good - but they are absolutely necessary to give us a chance to win.

The pass to Lynch for the goal shortly after half time was a case in point. Turned nothing much into a goal with pace and a brilliant kick.

Last year, especially in the 1st half of the season Nico was running himself into trouble which led to him turning the ball over, throwing the ball indiscriminately onto his boot or handballing to a teammate and putting him under pressure. Yesterday, on a few occassions he backed himself and ran out of trouble before kicking to a target 40+ metres further forward.
