In an era of football where players are supposedly well drilled in the arts of persistence, committment and determination I find it staggering that so many fail to follow through on one of the games basic principles.

I speak of course of the fake dreadlocks syndrome.

Time after time players have gone to the effort of adopting this radical remodelling of their natural hairdo and without fail, the brand new locks sit idle on the barbers floor only months later.

Lappin. OBree. Solomon. McMahon. The list goes on. The dear departed Bob Marley would be spinning in his grave to see such a flippant attitiude towards dreadlock retention in the AFL (he also would have strong views on the changes to the father/son rule and the current boardroom turmoil at the Carlton footy club)

Is there a player out there somewhere that will stick with the white boy rasta look for at least a season? I fear not...

I personally liked the whole *the strokes drummer* looking unkempt afro he had a while back, sorta suited him and the whole *jughead* nickname hes got going.
An awesome game by nigel tonite, very glad to have the workhorse back in the team.

Yeah - setting aside his unwillingness to stick with the dreads I think he's a champ. Love to have him in yellow and black with dreads, afro, mulllet or whatever he chose.

Hah, the yellow and black despite being my second team, have no chance on gettin jughead from us. He's finished like top 5 for the best in fairest for like the last 4 years. he would have definatly won it this year, if not being out for the last 7 weeks.

Hah, fabrizo from the strokes is f'kin gorgeous! I got mad wookie hair myself, so my way of thinking is, if hes got an afro, then he might not be so condensending on chicks with mad hair aswell. Though i did see him in a recent live clip with shaved hair, all hes gotta do now is grow the fro back and dicth his *band aid* of a girlfriend drew barrymore.

Yep, I'm here on a Saturday night. Amazing how a crap performance by one's footy team can extinguish any desire to go out and see a gig.

If I hear one more twee indie kid say, "it's only a game", there will be lots of indie-kid blood spilled all over the floor of the Empress Hotel.

I saw a few gigs on the weekend, went and saw ensign last nite, got my ears blasted but had a good nite.
Got icarus line on tuesday, my exs band played with them tonite in melbourne and he doesnt even dig them/know who they are

I got a compilation made for me shinboners which you'd like which had quite a bit of damien jurado, frodus, aesop rock, roadside monument, owen, I should maybe copy it for you. Do you like any hip hop along the lines of cannibal ox? It had some of that on it too.

Hah, gotta love six foot hick and theyre alter egos, the fred band ect. I love anything sorta countryish and rocking, do you know of a band called dallas crane? Theyre definatly one of my favourite australian bands, comin close with mid youth crisis, mindsnare and the dead salesmen. they have fantastic stage presence. awesome live and quite easy on the eye.

gettin hitched to someone with the last name scarlett would prob prove difficult, im sure theyres some porno star out there with that name, I guess being able to call themselves the *scarlett woman* or double-y scarlett the harlot x 2 would have its advantages in such an industry.
