Nothing to do with how well off people are, fans of the game can choose to buy it if they wish. Nintendo isn't pointing a gun to heads forcing purchase.

Websites like Amazon etc sell handheld game machines for $50-100 that emulate thousands of games. Including all the Pokémon games.

Charging $20-30 is something you'd expect from a remaster. An old game that developers have brought into the 21st century with improved graphics, mechanics and engine.

People will buy it I have no doubt. But Nintendo does forget that their old handheld games have been emulated for free for years.

Emulation isn't going to change anything.
They released the GB games on the virtual console 10 years ago and they were the best selling VC games, despite years of emulation.

Lots of people, myself included, want to play the games on a console. I want to transfer pokemon to home, like the full odds shiny I found in VC Gold. Currently the only way to do that is pay stupid money and cross your fingers you aren't being scammed with a repro.

Yes, they could have been cheaper, $20AU is pretty close to the VC games plus inflation. At that point though you are arguing over $10 for a game that you get dozens of hours playtime out of.

I have a small form factor Dell pc with batocera installed it's an emulation beast. The best way to go if you want to play old games.

I'm putting Pokopia first. Looks incredibly like my type of game and is less than a week away.

Looks more Minecraft/Lego Fortnite than Animal crossing so I’ll give it a look. See how reviews are.

The ability to transfer to home is the only reason I bought it.

Time to start shiny hunting.

Mind you, I just got a shiny Mudkip on an Emerald ROM hack where I was doing it at 10x fast forward speed and 12 emulators running simultaneously, and that was driving me crazy. Doing it the old fashioned way with no fast forward might be the death of me.

I haven't got far enough yet as I've been XP farming outside ember spa with the vs finder but they've reportedly fixed two issues from the original FRLG.

The tickets to get Ho-oh/Lugia and Deoxys are not hidden behind events but now automatic. And they've apparently fixed Raikou/Entei roar issue Re: permanent despawn.
