Nirvana.

But...could someone please point out Pearl Jam's best 10 songs.

I want to listen to them i just haven't given them the time yet.

T H X.

imo in no particular order check out the following:
Black
Jeremy
Go
Hail Hail
Corduroy
Wishlist
Given to Fly
Rearview Mirror
Mankind (sung by Stone Gossard)
Off He Goes

Plenty more great songs but try these out.

Pearl Jam. Nirvana are overrated and alot of that came after Kurt's death. Nirvana spoke to a generation no doubt about it but as a band Pearl Jam are one of the longest enduring survivors of the Seattle sound. Their self titled album holds up well. Nirvana were good though, but it's Pearl Jam for me.

Ledbetter.

Can only assume there's some reference to Huddy Ledbetter (the dude who wrote Black Betty)

Anyone know?

That's what I thought, but then I thought, wait isn't that 'Ledbetter' (which it is) but oh well.

They have some wierd lyrics, probably why Vedder mumbles so much - his lyrics don't get criticised as much that way.

I'm listening to I Am Mine at the moment from RearViewMirrow. Great song. Riot Act album was shyte though.

A few of the RA songs were better in concert, but yeah... too many sleeping pills for the band, I think. Even the song that should have absolutely gone off (Save You) turned out dull.

Pearl Jam. I have Nirvana's albums and like them but their songs are hit and miss for me. No doubting their awesomeness though.

Soundgarden, with Alice In Chains very close behind.

Pearl Jam, love Nirvana as well but Pearl Jam is better. Kurt Cobain even knew it himself hence his criticising of them for being comericial "sell outs" even though he was himself because he made money from his music as well, but he accepted it eventually.
