Probably wasn't a solo decision but he has to ok it and its on his head. I think he used up one of the free hits he earned in 2012.

Agree with your last sentence here - but I don't think we should decry his (and Poulos') international experience simply because it wasn't with one of the elite world teams.

I agree on both points.

Poulos international cred is only an issue in balance to the claims he does have elite world team experience

He should be judged on results
