This guy is a fantastic fit for our club and you could see how much he was getting out of every game he played last year. I remember how upset he was when he gave away that 50m penalty against the Saints last year and then forgot to get in the mark and Delsanto ran into a open goal. You could tell that he will not ever let that happen again.

Great pick up Tigers and I look forward to watching him cement him self into the side over the coming years . Should get another 5-8 games this year for sure.

Sounds a great bloke, to pick up an entirely new sport in under a year and then look decent at it's professional level is some achievement. That said, even if he doesn't ultimately make it, it's brilliant to see we are actively recruiting people best reflecting our desired culture. Agree with Rusty on his endeavor however I'd have to say the game he got totaled before the (3rd quarter?) siren and then came straight back on the next just shows how stupid our medical staff are but more importantly his thirst to succeed for our club.

Edit: just saw this in the 'A to Z of Richmond' article

O is for O’Reilly, to be sure, to be sure,

So imaginative :D

How many international recruits are you allowed?

Papua New Guineans Max Lavai (Essendon) and Gideon Simon (Richmond), and New Zealanders Rhys Panui-Leth, Kurt Heatherley and Shem Tatupu (Hawthorn) have already been signed to international scholarships.

Or is Oreilly a rookie, and this Simon our 1 international recruit??

Anyone seen Simon play?

That was the last game against Port with about 3 or 4 minutes before the end of the 2nd qtr. It was right in front of me and he didnt move a muscle for easily 60-90 seconds. For a moment he looked dead.

Apart from the Medic staff issue, when he came back on in the third, the first contest he went for was 110% This kid has guts by the bucket load. :thumbsu:
