I think to make it a little more fair. Those playing in opening round should play another team who has played opening round in round 1.

Those playing round one as their first game play another team in the same situation. It would at least get rid of the advantage of shaking out some rust and playing a team who hadn’t had the chance to do the same

But that would defeat part of the AFL's purpose...

Best game so far for a good contest with decent skills.
Blues/Swans was a butcher fest then a massacre, Geebung were never in it.
Giants/Hawks was entertaining but never really in doubt despite a spirited comeback.
Dogs looking decent here but 2nd halves have been strange.
