A Ross Lyon coached team will never win a Grand Final. They can grind their way there, but I just think that a team like Hawthorn is always going to dismantle them on the day.

On a side note, the Hawks are going to do bad things to us when we play them. To lose by 10 goals against a team they just beat by almost 10...yowch.

Didn't think the Dockers were going to get close to night at all.

They rely too much on their stars to lift them and they are not a team full of stars but they are a star team. Dawson, Fyffe and Barlow going out killed them and they were never going to to win the game as off yesterday when the teams were named.

They don't have much depth on their list to match it with the Hawks and there record at the MCG is pathetic.

However, I still rate them the second best team in the comp behind the Hawks and slightly in front of WCE.

Hawks look very good this year. I thought they would miss Buddy and possibly have a premiership hangover but doesnt look like it atm.

The positive for pies is that the comp may be open this year, after hawks. I will be interested to see how we go against them this year.

It was a really strong display by the Hawks (have to be honest - watched the replay after work and skipped patches after it became clear the game was over as a contest), to make Freo look second rate, wonder how big an impact the game being played at the MCG had - doesn't seem to suit the dockers.

It was interesting seeing Ceglar out there, he looked OK - but from memory, it was reported his attitude was more the problem during his time with us?

the pies of round 1 and the dockers of round 3 would have been a close match.

1 + 1 does not always = 2 in footy (fortunately for us)
