I watched 2 games of footy tonight, first half tigers v crap second half the black and whites looking good. We fell in against the roos and pushed the coast to the line. We have come over the top of the tigers after 6 days and a long flight. Im happy its only early with players to come back i think we are a shot this year (the finals i mean) But as i allways say big pebs has to fire for us to win.

Just finished work and only seen the last 5 mins. Can anyone give a quick best and worst tonight.
first half the worst, second halve the best the boys down stairs put in a good effort for the first games dick and cox

richards did do you some nice tap work though and Maxwell wasnt that bad. Just didnt find the ball much.
Burns was outstanding in the middle with 10+ clearances
Lockyer and Swan just ran their hearts out with 32 and 35 possies a piece
Rocca tackled hard, got a few goals and setup a few.
Licuria tried his heart out and played a much better game then last week

We are the best finishers in the league. The fitness levels are very very good to storm away as we did was a credit for the hard work we've done in the pre-season.
Lockyer and Swan were very good contributors, Burns was sensational in the centre, and Rocca was criticized for being lazy. Brad Dick and Alan Toovey kicked a few goals between them. The kids were great.

Top sides have depth. We cant always use that as an excuse.
Last week WC were without 2 of their best 3 players in Cox and Cousins and they beat us, they also beat last years Grand Finalists too.
Depth is the difference between good sides and true premiership contenders. This year isnt a development year, because we do have a team that can contend for the flag. I wasnt happy with our game plan tonight. But just looking at the players that played, that is a group that made me smile, we do have a group that can get us to the last day in September, its not the list, its the game plan.
I liked MM's comments at the end of the game, he is going to blood 3-4 youngsters in the next 5 weeks. Cant wait to see that sort of enthusiasm. Its great and it got us the 4 points tonight.
Rusling aint showed anything yet, the way he is going with his injuries he may never get to which would be a shame

not surpirsingly all six are great users of the ball, so is no wonder we seem to miss plenty of targets

Maxwell worst??? I thought he was solid in the first half when nobody else was.
Lockyer was great. One of the best games ive seen him play. Burns was inspirational. Swan, i dont know how he manages to pick up so many disposals and yet not get acknowledged for it. He sneaks under the radar.
Licuria was bad. No two ways about it.
O'bree was average at best.

What did everyone think of Travis Clokes game? I thought he was ordinary in the first half. Does he have a shoulder injury or something...takes everything on the chest and any half-decent defender can deal with that. His disposal was also terrible. Is this the start of his third season? I did like the way how he preented last night though which is always a good sign. I am often reminded that the kid has only just turned 20...but if he hasn't produced at the end of this season times got to be up for him. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm very happy with the win considering we had nearly our best 5 players out, Buckley, Didak, Holland, Clement and Johnson and we also played 3 guys that have never player a game. Wait until we get those 5 players back and you will be very impressed.

Don't forget Maxy almost got knocked out earlier, was pissing out blood and still went straight back to his bloke and kept running straight at contests. Like a freakin' madman.

For my mind Cloke was okay. Not great, not terrible, just okay. He did some good things and some ordinary things. I'm now starting to think that he won't be a great player for us, but he will be a solid player for us. I thought Richards looked better then he has in the previous weeks, but he was still pretty ordinary. I guess he's going to get better with game time and we're just going to have persist with him.

He had just 5 kicks (I think) and got 3 goals for his efforts and you'd say he did his job, so for my mind Maxwell did his by spoiling well. Richmond had the run of play for most of the first half and yet all the could do was create a 20 point lead (partly due to poor goal kicking).

The big positive from me is that Thomas showed he can be a midfielder and a half and that his kicking can be elite at times.

It collingwood. We won. We won with a lot injuries and 4 goals down at half time.
We ran over a ream we have not beaten the last two years with a alot of injuries.

I rather see us go well at the 2nd half of the season. Why? cause the points matter in the 2nd half of the year the most and 2nd well be carrying good form into finals (if we make it that is)
