What is this absolute crap being touted by Robert Walls on SEN?

He's peddling a baseless view that the players weren't "hurting" when they lost the GF. Saying the players just said "oh well". No evidence of this was presented, of course. Just his usual "I just think" reasoning.

The post-game footage shown on The Club alone completely contradicts him. Players in tears, on the verge of breaking down. God forbid Walls could... I dunno.... maybe talk to the players about it before he opens his gob to bait Collingwood supporters.

I know this is just Walls and I shouldn't expect any better or let it irritate me, but the conflict of interest stuff raised in relation to Eddie is hilarious when we can turn on the radio and listen to an over-excited Carlton man take cheap and baseless potshots at the club he clearly hates and which lost two games for the whole season.

Now saying Murphy/Judd is better than Bartel/Selwood or Pendles/Swan.

The players hurt like hell after 2002 and, although they had a great year and made the 2003 GF, it showed how little the "hurt" actually means 12 months later if you're not the better side on the day.

Sorry for bringing that up, by the way. I feel dirty now.

They hurt plenty last year, but the real keys to premierships (not phoney early season form) are injuries, how much desire is there to get that pill on Grand Final day, who has the better skills, whose game plan stands up and who executes it best. It's a loooong season and the precise amount of "hurt" displayed publically is a false indicator over the course of a season.

It's an irrelevance and Walls just wanted to have a dig because he was so excited about beating Brisbane and playing us next week.

Yeah I think I'm done with SEN game day coverage too.

I have Fox Footy this season so I'm lucky enough to be able to watch every game (eg GWS rightly getting smashed by North) but have the AFL app running on the phone when I'm out of the house.

There are options besides SEN and I think I'll now be choosing them thanks to Walls.

If only I had access to an archive of his failed declarations over the years. It would fill a warehouse. He's made so many sh** calls it's not funny. But as Copeland says, he never gets genuinely called on it by his colleagues in the media. Time and time again he says "I just think this will happen" and it almost inevitably doesn't. Why anyone that doesn't barrack for Carlton would give credence to his words is beyond me. Being a former coach doesn't preclude you from being an idiot.
