So for some reason I'm watching round 2, 2016, Tigers vs Pies. Just watched the first quarter and feel the desire to post something.
I believe this is the "You chose wrong" line to Treloar game.
It's Short's first game (as a forward) where he kicks a goal with his first kick.

The most obvious difference between now and then is that there is no Butler, Castagna or Rioli. Instead Jack is running around with the lumbering Ben Griffiths & Vickery. Vickery actually doesn't look too bad, but Griffiths is just so slow and incapable of applying any pressure when the opposition has possession.
There is something about Jack that suggests he was not enjoying his footy anywhere near as much as he has in 2017 & 2018.

I know its only one quarter I've watched, but I'm surprised how good Brandon Ellis and Connor Menadue are playing. Possibly there is less pressure and congestion back then, so Menadue gets space to run and Ellis gets a moment more time to compose his disposals. I really hope Menadue can regain what I see back then, feels a while since I've seen it from him.
K-Mac also looks really good, but I felt he played well last year - just lacking something at times this year.
Townsend actually playing really well in the midfield.

Most others are as I remember: Astbury, Rance & Grimes (until he does his hammy) all looking good. Houli looking good, Vlastuin not as good as he is now. Cotchin, Grigg, Lloyd, Miles, Lambert about the same as now. Dusty looks OK, but just doesn't have the swagger and aura that he has now after his year of perfection.
Taylor Hunt & Cory Ellis I've barely noticed....

Is that the one we lost by 2 points?
1 point.
Short's first game. Looked like the small forward we were desperate for, then wasn't a part of the games most dynamic forward line ever.
Moore already offers more than Griff ever did.

Oh god we absolutely threw that match away with some shocking decisions in defence in the last few minutes. I went with a Collingwood supporting friend, bad memories
