Now thats all done, what should we do in the PSD? i really think we should consider Knobel considering we lack genuine ruckman, especially due to Stafford going in for knee surgery now - and be sidelined for a month. We have only one pick for now, but with the zantuck situation still in the air, maybe 2? i think knobel and and a young kid, maybe Pearce with the other. i was suprised Deluca went so late...

ryan jackson is also well rated - and suprisingly not picked. i think we have to really address our ruck problem, it will be no fun for us(the supporters) when stafford gets reported or injured and we get stuck having to play hall & simmonds in the ruck. Knobel is better than hall i think, certainly as a ruckman, and is a suitable age. i think we will finish bottom 3 again, and next years draft will be KPP and Rucks. Deluca slipped to 35 and was very suprised we didnt have a crack at him. either way you look at it, knobel will free up staff to play forward and simmonds too, simmonds even maybe capable to play back depending on match ups. our midfield is (FINALLY!!) looking capable and exciting. deledio and tambling will add class on our flanks this year.

Grundy, Kirkby, Jackson, Swallow, Toovey are the players we should look at for the PSD and rookie drafts.

Guys have to be top-age (18 year olds) to get picked up from here.

Jackson, Swallow, Toovey, Redden, Neaves and Delmenico all become top-30 candidates for next year's draft.

Grundy, Hill, Bartlett, Richardson, Thursfield, Kirkby, May, Barling, Collins, Foster, Batson, Gilham, Henshaw, Bain all should be rookie list selections and hopefully we get a couple of them.

I know you have to be 18 by Dec 31st to be rookied, but i thought the same age rules apply for the PSD that apply for the national draft??

I'm hoping for Grundy and maybe Hamill.

We won't get May as he ain't pacy enough for Wallace's liking.

Dam, i just realised we can't get Lynch (young beanpole) onto the rookie list, missing by two weeks!!

Knobel will be going to Carlton I'd say. To expensive at the moment. Besides Simmons is our number one ruckman. He said that one of the reasons he came to Richmond was that Plough said he'd use him as a Ruckman resting forward and not a forward change Ruckman. Sure we need backup in case of injury - Stafford, probably McKee. Zantuck will be going. (hopefully) We'll have two picks in the PSD - best kid overlooked at 1 and McKee later. We'll get a Young ruckman next year. I believe the thinking is that it takes a while for a midfield to gel and grow together but a Ruckman can be slotted in pretty easily. Don't get me wrong Ruckman are important - just not as important as our other needs at present.

Spot on, although I'd like to see us at least rookie list a ruckman this year. Clearing Zantuck out should give us more cash to have some extra rookies.

McKee is soooooo crap though, surely Knobel won't cost that much and we take him.......but if we do get McKee, it won't be as bad as Marsh this year (2004) and McKee will barely play hopefully if he is drafted by us in the PSD.

does it really matter if we have no ruck next year? its a year - we have a 5year plan.if kirby is as good as many are saying, i would rather as suck in the ruck for a year than lose an "aaron davey" for 10 years. when it comes down to it , we need another year or two of "low" finish'es before we are really a realistic chance. To lose a potential great kid for one year of a crappy backup, backup ruckman - who MAY or MAY NOT be needed sounds very much like something richmond of the past would do.Marsh barely played last year, and when he did, you might as well got me to have a run in ruck, cos he sucked arse - just like McKee will. if ruck was that important, we should have traded off a late pick or a older, more useless player for a an old useless ruckman then. leaving it for now and maybe losing a young player with as much ability as ppl are saying would be pathetic. finals arent on the cards in 2005. deal with it

i'd love to pick up kirkby as a key position player. The last good rookie that has come through and played in the seniors for richmond was tivendale. Kirkby will surely play. Maybe even Grundy we should pick

I dont see any harm getting a Toovey or Kirby type this season. I doubt either is crap. To be dubbed top 20 in the draft is a big call so the kids can obviously play abit.

You seem to think we are wasting a potential spot on them next year. I reckon the likes of Ray Hall, Rory Hilton, Ty Zantuck, will have to step up next seaosn or they will not have their contracts re-newed by plough.

Getting a young ruckman wont stop up getting kids in next years (and future) drafts. Im preety sure of that.
