Now what do we do with Richo?

Sorry, i know there are heaps of similar threads, but would like to concentrate on Richo..

Do we put him back in the Pocket? He could kick plenty of goals if being delivered the ball by Cousins, Cotchin, Coughlan, Johnson, Tambling, Tuck, Connors, Foley, Delidio ... we now have some depth in the midefield and Richo can now go back in the pocket and get plenty of clean ball delivered to him....

My View is Cotchin, Lids, Bling and Foley providing the run out of the middle whilst Tuck, Cousins and Coughlan win the hard ball..........for once, we now have some depth.

I'd put Richo back in the pocket and let him take 15 marks and kick 4 - 8 (3 out of bounds on the full) each week. That's enough to win a Coleman...

Brown, Morton, Reiwolt, Shultz, Vickery also in the forwardline...

Whether Hawks supporters agree or not, Franklin plays like Richo. Great leading mark, great one on one mark and great hands... But poor kick.

If Franklin can kick 100+ and Fev 99, then with a strong midfield Richo can do the same and win a Coleman..

Nothing beats the call from the crowd when RICHO! takes a strong grab within kicking distance... then everyone closes their eyes and waits for the kick

It's the best feeling.. nerves x 100 and then he drills it... the roar is massive... then comes the RIIICHOOOOOOOO chant.... That is what i want to see. We have a truck load of midfeilders that can run all day.

Abso-bloody-lutely. Keep Richo away from the Forward line (as a permanent KPP). let him play on the wing and drift down to the 50 every now and then. Last quarter perhaps to the HFF.

We had Richo for 10+ years as the key forward, and we were shit. Just adding a single 30-yo midfielder ain't going to suddenly make that work.

Where does it leave coughlan now he will find it tuff to get in the midfield

Initially thought of doing that or even playing him at CHF, but the thought of Richo plonked in the square with Brown lurking in a pocket being fed the ball by the likes of Foley, Deledio, Cotchin, McMahon and Cousins is too good to pass up. For the first time in his career Richo would have the ball delivered on a silver platter and what ever he failed to mark, Brown would clean up at ground level.

Why not go all out and try and steal a flag just in case this is the year Richo calls it quits.

No doubt I'll cop shit for this , but I believe it's time to start playing him off the bench, he's not getting any younger and we can't keep expecting him to run himself into the ground week after week ,even though - unlike for the first 3/4 of his career- he gladly will.

I want A.

Richo is one of the best players Richmond has produced in the past decade. The guy has 791 goals, he's no *******.... I want him at FF taking big grabs kicking goals. Reiwolt or Shultz will not get the respect Richo does and will not be doubled teamed. Richo will take the best defender and get doubled teamed which leaves players like Brown, Morton and Tambling loose to start crumbing goals...its a win win

you see this is where the buety of having a deep midfield comes in.

with players like RICHO , DELIDIO , BROWN , NEWMAN , can all go in to the midfield & rotate through the foward line as well.

add riewoldt , morton , hughes as more permenant fowards with vickery & putt to add that bit of spice in ayear or 2.

starting to get really excited about this team, for the first time in 27 years i am very very confident that this team is really going places.

The only thing the addition of cousins means is that browny will no longer have to do stints in the midfield and as such I think he will win our leading goalkicker award by a long way. Browny to kick 70+ goals. He is the forgotten star in our team. People are forgetting he is roughly the same age as cousins so if cousins can come in and win our b & f like some people believe, Browny can revive his star status too!
