AFL Club
Richmond
after recruiting another mid in thomson, we have enoguh midfielders to care for now and i believe that this is the year to go for a KPP for our 1st rounder.
not much point in getting another midfielder because we already have

starters
Lidsy
Tambo
Foley
Tuck
Cotchin
Johnson
Coughlan (coming off the bench)
Thomson

player required if injuries
Polo
Edwards
White

thus, it would be ideal to get some talls. cmon tigers this is the year to risk it by grabbing a KPP.

After getting Seaby tomorrow, we will have a very nice option in getting the best available without having the pressure of getting a ruck.

Whitey is in our best 22 easily and KJ is not.

who says we are getting seaby?
i really dont think we need him. and if we need a ruckman, at least someone who can play the game.
i say try vickery
Word around the traps are that we will get a good deal tomorrow.

hope it's true.

i'm with you on getting best available with pick 8. IMO it wouldn't be a KPP (apart from watts, naitanui, vickery, i wouldn't use pick 8 on any of the talls)...i would get the best available and that would be hartlett if he lasts (i tend to think one of vickery or hartlett will fall to us, all dependent on who port picks, they pick one, we should then get the other)...so i guess win win situation for us.

I don't pretend to be a draft expert but I really hope we don't go tall early. From what I've read, and by all means I'd love to be proved wrong, midfielders are quality this draft. I'd love to snare a mid that falls, just because I feel they could almost be another Joel Selwood. I'm yet to hear such glowing reviews of the KPP quality outside of Watts and Vickery which greatly worries me. I think one of those amonst the 15-20 category will fall to us similar to a Rance scenario and a speculative pick in the 4th round is bound for a ruckman barring someone falling that shouldn't have.

That is my take on what we should do depending upon circumstance.

Good point their tucker:thumbsu: White is a dasher who is not afraid to get the hard ball. Johnson IMO is just a reciever and I dont believe he would make our current top 25 if he wasn't the captain.

If Richmond really is to be the next generation club and dominate for the next 10 years we need someone to lead on the field aswell as off field.

I say we recruit some young fella that shows signs of being an inspirational on field leader, someone who has allready shown the ability to attack the ball and turn a game.

Sidebottom for me:thumbsu:

1st pick - Best available.

Obviously depends on who's left.
I wouldn't be disappointed with Yarran. Midfielder that kicks goals.
I'm only going on what I've read about the juniors but he sounds very talented and already highly skilled. Attitude questionable.

Some might say oh no not another JON but Yarran already has the tools, he has the skills. Attitudes can be adjusted. From WA, a risk yes, but one I'd be happy to take.

2nd pick - Best KPP available.
3rd pick - Best KPP available

Surely if Hartlett, Ziebel, Sidebottom is available we couldn't overlook. Good midfields make good forward lines. Imagine how many goals Richo would have kicked with blokes like Deledio, Cotchin, Sidebottom delivering to him for 5 years of his career. Riewoldt and Hughes, Morton, Gourdis/Putt will kick many more goals with a top midfield delivering. I still think we are short one a grade mid.

STEELE SIDEBOTTOM FOR ME TOO.......

Although from what i have seen of Vickey i wouldnt mind him either

Hartlett. Would be over the moon with this bloke. Already been playing against men ala Gibbs. Think he will become a far better player than Sidebottom.

Unless Vickery drops to 8 we will get a midfielder.
If Vickery is at 8 we take him.
Either way it will be the best available player.
You don't take the a KPP if their is an absolute gun midfielder available which is exactly what we would be doing if we overlook Hartlett, Ziebell or Sidebottom for somebody like Trengrove at 8 when we will likely be able to get somebody of similar quality at 26.
Their won't be any midfielers as good as those 3 at 26.

Vickery at 8. If he isn't their then Ziebell/Hartlett/Sidebottom/Blease

Mitch Robinson at 26 if we take Vickery. Otherwise Jordan Roughead

Last pick, a tall foward

Vickery wont be there at 8 so take the best available whether its small or tall. Any chance of McKernan still being there at 26????
